TITANIC ROYAL - AN AVERAGE 4* HOTEL As a family with two children, aged 4 and 6, we stayed at Titanic Royal for nine nights in mid-March. We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. However, it's important to note that many of these favorable reviews were posted by accounts that had only one review, suggesting they might be questionable or possibly incentivized. While it's not a five-star hotel, it is a decent four-star accommodation by European standards. PROS: - The beach is long and sandy, with crystal-clear water. It's important to note that the sea experiences low tides, which is beneficial for children because the water tends to be warmer. However, this may not be ideal for swimming, as you'll need to venture further out. While the reef is small and predominantly dead, it still hosts a variety of fish, making it enjoyable for snorkeling. - Another advantage is the availability of free à la carte restaurants. Guests can dine at all four restaurants without any additional charge during their stay. The food at these establishments is delicious and provides a fine dining experience. My personal favorites were the Italian and Mongolian restaurants. - Additionally, the room service was excellent. We found our room clean every day, and it was also quite spacious. Fresh orange and strawberry juice during the breakfast. CONS: FOOD: - Food was one of the biggest disappointments during our stay. While the à la carte restaurants were acceptable, the main restaurant consistently made it difficult for me to find something I enjoyed. The grilled meat was often overcooked, there were no fish fillets available, and the local stews were unappealing. - The breakfast menu remained the same every day, and the dinner menu was similar each evening, with only a few new dishes introduced daily. Additionally, snacks like chips or nuts were not available during the daytime. - There is a snack bar on the beach that serves pizzas, french fries, hot dogs, pastries, and ice cream (which was not good), along with some meat options. Some of the food is acceptable, but don’t expect authentic Italian-style pizza. - During the last few days of our stay, I was waiting to go back home to taste our local food :D ALCOHOL: - The second disappointment was the alcohol. All the cocktails were below average—synthetic and made from low-quality spirits. They served drinks in plastic glasses outside, and sometimes even in disposable plastic cups, which made the cocktails look unappealing. They were unable to make a proper Mojito, Piña Colada, or Tequila Sunrise. Gin and Tonic was Ok, but the gin itself was of low quality (Egyptian). - It was the first place where I saw a bartender putting an ice cube in a glass of white wine, as they couldn’t even chill it properly. - The only good option was the beer. - I recommend bringing your own spirits if that’s important to you because you cannot so easily get it in Egypt. POOLS: - In March, the pools were freezing cold; only one pool is heated, along with the children's pools. STAFF: - The staff doesn't seem happy. You are not always greeted. If you do not tip, you will not be served. And even if you do tip, they may forget you. Additionally, I did not find it convenient for them to touch my kids. ANIMATION: - Children's animation is often repetitive and geared toward kids up to 3 years old. - Animation for adults is average. - After 10 PM, the hotel was quite calm. CLEANLINESS: - Some areas, like hotel rooms, the lobby bar, and the area near the pools, are clean. However, the main restaurant lacks cleanliness. It was our first visit to Egypt. For our AI concept trips, we typically go to Turkey or Spain. In a similar price category in those countries, everything is better—better food and service. I would like to try a nicer hotel in Egypt to get a clearer perspective on the hotel options there. Would I consider going back to Titanic Royal? Maybe, but only at a lower price.

PLEASE READ! We stayed in Titanic Royal for a week in June. Having read previous reviews we were very excited to be staying there. Unfortunately our experiences did not live up to the standards described, for so many reasons. In summary we got racism, rudeness, diarrhoea and food poisoning. If you’re going from UK with expectations of similar experience of Turkey. You will be very disappointed. Avoid this hotel at all cost. Avoid Egypt full stop. Let’s go through the details. HOTEL STAFF: I have traveled the world and have stayed at countless hotels, but this hotel has to be the worst for hospitality. Every single member of staff looked upset, angry and unbothered. Not a single one is smiling and welcoming, even when we first entered the hotel. The guy checkin us in was Omar (128) was very blunt, unwelcome and rude. Throughout our stay, we interacted with him on several other occasions and his approach and personality remained unchanged. Like all his other colleagues he did not want to be there, and does not have skills nor training to deal with customers. Moreover, it felt intimidating to ask staff for some assistance. On several occasions (e.g. asking for a bottle of water) staff simply pretended not to hear and completely ignore us. On another occasion, I witnessed one of the staff fill a bottle of ‘mineral’ water from a tap and bring to my table! They specifically, in writing, tell you NOT to drink their tap water when you check in as it’ll make you unwell. Also, the staff by the pool control the sunbeds and umbrellas. You must pay/bribe them in £ or € (not local currency!) to get their assistance or position near the pool. On several occasions our sunbeds got repositioned or moved to accommodate people that paid/bribed the pool staff. Similarly, you will only get drinks and towel service by the pool if you pay the bribe. The only positive comment would be about the room cleaners. They were polite, did a good job and on couple of days they left towel origami on the beds which the children enjoyed. My family and I went All-Inclusive which meant we could access the restaurants al a-carte restaurants. We found out that we had to book these the day before. But every time I tried, I was told they are fully booked! Yet, when we walked past the restaurants in the evening we could see only one or two tables occupied. Couple of days into our stay I realised that to get a booking you have to BRIBE the person recording the books at the reception - Hazem(354). I confronted him about this and refused to pay. Following a heated conversation I did manage to get two bookings. But the restaurant food and service is no different to the Buffet. Very small selection of tasteless food. Again, rude staff who do not want to be there, and only serving the people that pay them a bribe for every service - I saw elderly white couple paying $ bribe coins mid-service for a glass of wine! At the end of our stay all family members got diarrhoea and diagnosed with food poisoning. FACILITIES: The facilities are completely different to what is advertised. There is no Spa and Wellness Centre. There is no Hammam, Sauna, nor Steam room. Of course you can pay big bucks (in £ or $) for them to book you outside one. They specifically choose not to take their own currency and always insist on £, € or $. Be ready to pay big bucks for Taxi. Even using Uber app, the drivers see that you’re staying in hotel so only accept job if you agree to pay them in €, for example a £1.50 Uber journey becomes €10 cash!! The gym on the side of the hotel is the size of half a single-garage! The other half of the garage is their “Spa” being used to provide massages behind a curtain! This is false advertising and is misleading people.

We stayed at Royal Titanic for nine nights during New Year's / Christmas holidays. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and especially loved the friendly and welcoming staff! Some items however need to be noted. Please see below our more detailed impressions on the different aspects of our stay. COVID-19 - Practically all staff have masks, but majority don't wear them properly (i.e. they are hanging below the nose or even mouth). This becomes particularly uncomfortable in instances when the staff and especially the sales people (e.g. from Safari, Spa) come very close to you. 99% of the visitors also don't wear masks (including when going on excursions in small, crowded buses). In the dining areas, the staff serve the food from the buffet themselves, which minimizes the amount of people that touch the serving utensils, etc. There are hand sanitizers on most tables indoors, but none at the tables outdoors. Beach towels are handed out from sealed bags, but towels in the room are sometimes given in a sealed bag and other times without any protection. Also the person who showed us our room on the first day made sure to touch every single switch in the room: of course, he probably had good intentions, but this isn't very COVID-19 friendly. Accommodation - The rooms have all the essentials, and ours included a balcony overlooking the swimming pool as well. Points to note: the beds are very large; the bathroom does not have a proper door (i.e. you can hear everything from the bed); the curtains don't block 100% of the light so might be an issue if your sleep tends to be disrupted by light; and the WiFi is very slow throughout the hotel. Cleaning was done properly although on some occasions we didn't receive enough towels (i.e. just one towel for two people). They seemed to love leaving us with shampoo, but not enough body wash. Entertainment - We had a great time playing volleyball most days at the beach - special thanks to Igor and Eddy - although this was interrupted when the ball got broken and the management took several days to provide a new one (and even then, it was very hard and hence made it difficult to play properly). Besides the usual entertainment program, there are also water sports (e.g. wind surfing - not AI) offered at the hotel and you can book excursions from one of the sales people who go around and pester you every day. We ended up booking Safari from Adam - we had a good time overall, although the glasses, helmets, and quad-bikes provided were quite old / beaten up. Food / Drinks - The buffet was quite nice. We especially enjoyed the New Year's dinner which featured plenty of fish / seafood, and the hotel also organized a special dinner for Christmas on the 6th of January. We also dined at the a la carte restaurants (all except the Greek one was was closed at the time). Our favourites were Italian and Teppanyaki, while the Chinese was so-so and Mongolian a bit too oily for our liking. From drinks, gin & tonic, the three-coloured cocktail, and mango daiquiri were quite decent. Some other ones (e.g. mojito, margarita) were quite disappointing. Pools / Beach - Plenty of pools at the hotel, but only one was heated (and even then, it wasn't very warm). The beach was very nice and the sun warmed up the sand well even in the middle of the winter. Although the sea was a bit cold, we still went for a short swim every day. Note that the sea is quite shallow. Final word on the pestering marketing people, either from the Spa, Safari, water-sports, etc. which never stop to bother you until you either buy something from them, or simply and rudely tell them to go away. If you keep staying polite with them and don't give them a definite no, they'll make sure to bother you until you leave.

We booked the cheapest rooms available at the hotel which were the economy room (311x) which are at the front part of the hotel with a street/mountain view, since we were planning that we will update the room after we arrived, either by giving a bigger tip at the reception(other times we did with 50 euros) or we pay for the upgrade, since its cheaper to updgrade at the hotel than at the travel agency. Once we arrived at the hotel, the guys at the reception declined our offer of 50 eur tip to upgrade to room since it was prohibited for Titanic Royal employees. First of all the economy rooms were quite noisy in the evening, because of the heavy traffic and constant horns on the street. Also when we were going to our room, there was a nasty smell all along the corridors and even in the room. Later we found out that there is a water treatment plant near that wing of the hotel (31xx rooms). Entering the room we expected a double bed or a queen bed, but there were 3 single beds separated by nightstands. The next morning we decided to upgrade the room to a standard pool view room. The fridge was replenished each day, new towels when requested, some towel compositions each day on bed. The food was good! But as usual in Egypt 90% of the foods at breakfast/lunch/dinner was seasoned with saffron or curry. The food selection at the main restaurant wasnt that great, although they had different theme each night the foods were quiet repetitve. In the A.I. menu there are 2 types of beer and 10-15 kind of cocktails, which are all pretty similar. TIPPING IT'S A MUST. I mean you can survive without tipping, but the quality of the services grows exponentially with the amount of tip. I mean if you dont give a tip at the beachbar or at the poolbar probable you will get your drink in small 200 ml plastic cups, which isn't really great when you order a mojito and between the ice you get like 100ml of cocktail. Or 2 sips of beer. Or if you dont tip the waiters in the pool or beach area wont ask you if you want anything, just only like 1 time the whole day. On the other hand, as we were 4 people we usually tipped 200 LE(6.5 eur) each morning at the beachbar and the waiters were coming to us in like every 30 minutes, we got our drinks in bigger 400 ml plastic/glass cups, or if we ordered at the bar they sent us to our sunbeds and they delivered, or they just randomly appeared with a few beers, coffe, or cocktails. The same was the situation at the lobby bar too. If you gave a tip each night(50-100 LE or 2-3 dollars) you get nice fancy drinks in fancy glasses, and the waiter comes to you every 10-15 minutes, being friendly etc. Same with the breakfast/lunch/dinner service. If you dont give a tip at the breakfast and you ask for a cola, you wont get it, they will say its not available at breakfast. If we gave a tip we all got cola. Same with beers at lunch. BEACH/POOLS During low tide there is a little sand island like 50-100 from the beach where kids can play in the sand. Then there is a coral reef which is amazing with snorkeling equipment. You can see a lot of sea creatures like fishes, crabs, sea stars, and sea snails. Its amazing. The beach is not for swimmers. It's too shallow. You have to walk in the water like 400-500 meters, so the water can reach your neck. We didn't really used the pools. Probably we entered the pool where there is a pool bar like 2 times during the 7 days. The water in the pools are much colder than in the sea. ANIMATION/PROGRAMS During the evening from 21.15 there were shows at the stage which is inside the hotel next to the main entrance. Each night there was a different show like "Couple of the hotel"(5-6 couples had to do different funny tasks), Travesty Show ( a few guys dressed as females). These shows were like 30-45 minutes, and to be honest wasn't that great. Some of them are even pretty boring. During the day there was no animation at all. Like some Boca or some couple games on the beach. There was volleyball and sometimes aquagym,...

High standard of accommodation, well maintained grounds all be it very new, literal army of staff working round the clock. Mini bar constantly stocked with main brand drinks and wster coke and sprite tea and coffee too. The beach is a good however the sea is shallow until you get a fair way out which you should as there are some beatiful fish and reef life which are especially accessible during low tide The pools are well .maintained and staffed there are ample loungers across the entire hotel which are of a high standard. The food is high quality and accommodation for special diets after Walid the restaurant manager spoke to the head chef for us as vegatarians was very nice and after tweo weeks no illness which I believe to be outstanding for hurghada after speaking to people at the airport who stayed at much more expensive hotels and were very ill. Drinks service was great and as teetotal mock tails were very welcome break from just cola or water at most hotels. The massages at the spa were really good and sorted my back problem in the first session, the boat trip to orange Bay was relaxing and the snorkeling was also great at the reef after the island. The desert safari was good fun on quad bikes we booked a private tour which was very good. The shisha was availble every night after 5pm and was amazing really friendly staff a credit to the hotel although I feel sorry for them as this is right next to the mini disco area at night and children are not a good combination with beanbags coal and glass. Although nothing bad happened I feel this area needs screening off with glass from the stage to protect children from danger and allow those who wish to shisha to do so without having to grab hold of the pipe every time five kids dive oast onto a bean bag (constructive criticism only) The hotel gets sun from dawn till dusk is well positioned and well thought out. The grounds are very nice but still evolving we watched plants double in size and new bar open on the beach plus various quality of life upgrades while we were there. Building is finished as don't be put off by reviews that say it isn't they are old. There are still some upgrades going on this is a fluid and dynamic process which absolutely did not negatively impact our stay i fact it enhanced it with a new beach bar and bean bag lounge area with gazebo to. I would gladly return ASAP but unfortunately I fear the hotel is to be out of my price range by the time I next travel given the standard the team are aiming to create. Special mentions for the shisha team the head chef, abul of the aqua centre but above all Walid of the management team Jay Jay of THE animation team for making our stay special even tho we didn't really engage in animation Jay went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and Walid wortks incredibly hard is very effective as a manager with a hands on style I really appreciate in a leader. Don't hesitate to try the hotel out its really quite an experience and this end of hurghada was a huge benefit over the enclosed prison camps of el gouna and the likes with armed guards. (that's how those hotels were described to us by the people we met at the airport leaving many of them felt trapped and unsafe while we felt free and relaxed) we walked freely around the whole area completely safely without any need for armed guards the locals are friendly although the taxi drivers are a breed of their own. Also kudos to the general manager who engaged guests daily on his bike which is an ecologically friendly surprise. This hotel we illbe very popular in the next few years and although there were few English guests almost all staff spoke it well and the multinational atmosphere was generally very nice I honestly have no complaints about Russians or Germans like there were many nationalities who were peaceful pleasant people from romainia Russia Poland etc hotel was a welcome break from drunk british and Europeans we usually encounter at all...

PROS: The beach is long and sandy, with crystal-clear water. Another advantage is the availability of free à la carte restaurants. Guests can dine at all four restaurants without any additional charge during their stay. The food at these establishments is delicious and provides a fine dining experience. My personal favorites were the Italian and Mongolian restaurants. Additionally, the room service was excellent. We found our room clean every day, and it was also quite spacious. Fresh orange and strawberry juice during the breakfast.

CONS:

FOOD: Food was one of the biggest disappointments during our stay. While the à la carte restaurants were acceptable, the main restaurant consistently made it difficult for me to find something I enjoyed. The grilled meat was often overcooked, there were no fish fillets available, and the local stews were unappealing. The breakfast menu remained the same every day, and the dinner menu was similar each evening, with only a few new dishes introduced daily. Additionally, snacks like chips or nuts were not available during the daytime. There is a snack bar on the beach that serves pizzas, french fries, hot dogs, pastries, and ice cream (which was not good), along with some meat options. Some of the food is acceptable, but don’t expect authentic Italian-style pizza. During the last few days of our stay, I was waiting to go back home to taste our local food :D ALCOHOL: The second disappointment was the alcohol. It was the first place where I saw a bartender putting an ice cube in a glass of white wine, as they couldn’t even chill it properly. The only good option was the beer. I recommend bringing your own spirits if that’s important to you because you cannot so easily get it in Egypt. POOLS: In March, the pools were freezing cold; only one pool is heated, along with the children's pools. STAFF: The staff doesn't seem happy. You are not always greeted. If you do not tip, you will not be served. And even if you do tip, they may forget you. Additionally, I did not find it convenient for them to touch my kids. ANIMATION: Children's animation is often repetitive and geared toward kids up to 3 years old. Animation for adults is average. After 10 PM, the hotel was quite calm. CLEANLINESS: Some areas, like hotel rooms, the lobby bar, and the area near the pools, are clean.

Maybe, but only at a...
