We booked the cheapest rooms available at the hotel which were the economy room (311x) which are at the front part of the hotel with a street/mountain view, since we were planning that we will update the room after we arrived, either by giving a bigger tip at the reception(other times we did with 50 euros) or we pay for the upgrade, since its cheaper to updgrade at the hotel than at the travel agency. Once we arrived at the hotel, the guys at the reception declined our offer of 50 eur tip to upgrade to room since it was prohibited for Titanic Royal employees. First of all the economy rooms were quite noisy in the evening, because of the heavy traffic and constant horns on the street. Also when we were going to our room, there was a nasty smell all along the corridors and even in the room. Later we found out that there is a water treatment plant near that wing of the hotel (31xx rooms). Entering the room we expected a double bed or a queen bed, but there were 3 single beds separated by nightstands. The next morning we decided to upgrade the room to a standard pool view room. The fridge was replenished each day, new towels when requested, some towel compositions each day on bed. The food was good! But as usual in Egypt 90% of the foods at breakfast/lunch/dinner was seasoned with saffron or curry. The food selection at the main restaurant wasnt that great, although they had different theme each night the foods were quiet repetitve. In the A.I. menu there are 2 types of beer and 10-15 kind of cocktails, which are all pretty similar. TIPPING IT'S A MUST. I mean you can survive without tipping, but the quality of the services grows exponentially with the amount of tip. I mean if you dont give a tip at the beachbar or at the poolbar probable you will get your drink in small 200 ml plastic cups, which isn't really great when you order a mojito and between the ice you get like 100ml of cocktail. Or 2 sips of beer. Or if you dont tip the waiters in the pool or beach area wont ask you if you want anything, just only like 1 time the whole day. On the other hand, as we were 4 people we usually tipped 200 LE(6.5 eur) each morning at the beachbar and the waiters were coming to us in like every 30 minutes, we got our drinks in bigger 400 ml plastic/glass cups, or if we ordered at the bar they sent us to our sunbeds and they delivered, or they just randomly appeared with a few beers, coffe, or cocktails. The same was the situation at the lobby bar too. If you gave a tip each night(50-100 LE or 2-3 dollars) you get nice fancy drinks in fancy glasses, and the waiter comes to you every 10-15 minutes, being friendly etc. Same with the breakfast/lunch/dinner service. If you dont give a tip at the breakfast and you ask for a cola, you wont get it, they will say its not available at breakfast. If we gave a tip we all got cola. Same with beers at lunch. BEACH/POOLS During low tide there is a little sand island like 50-100 from the beach where kids can play in the sand. Then there is a coral reef which is amazing with snorkeling equipment. You can see a lot of sea creatures like fishes, crabs, sea stars, and sea snails. Its amazing. The beach is not for swimmers. It's too shallow. You have to walk in the water like 400-500 meters, so the water can reach your neck. We didn't really used the pools. Probably we entered the pool where there is a pool bar like 2 times during the 7 days. The water in the pools are much colder than in the sea. ANIMATION/PROGRAMS During the evening from 21.15 there were shows at the stage which is inside the hotel next to the main entrance. Each night there was a different show like "Couple of the hotel"(5-6 couples had to do different funny tasks), Travesty Show ( a few guys dressed as females). These shows were like 30-45 minutes, and to be honest wasn't that great. Some of them are even pretty boring. During the day there was no animation at all. Like some Boca or some couple games on the beach. There was volleyball and sometimes aquagym,...
Read moreHigh standard of accommodation, well maintained grounds all be it very new, literal army of staff working round the clock. Mini bar constantly stocked with main brand drinks and wster coke and sprite tea and coffee too. The beach is a good however the sea is shallow until you get a fair way out which you should as there are some beatiful fish and reef life which are especially accessible during low tide The pools are well .maintained and staffed there are ample loungers across the entire hotel which are of a high standard. The food is high quality and accommodation for special diets after Walid the restaurant manager spoke to the head chef for us as vegatarians was very nice and after tweo weeks no illness which I believe to be outstanding for hurghada after speaking to people at the airport who stayed at much more expensive hotels and were very ill. Drinks service was great and as teetotal mock tails were very welcome break from just cola or water at most hotels. The massages at the spa were really good and sorted my back problem in the first session, the boat trip to orange Bay was relaxing and the snorkeling was also great at the reef after the island. The desert safari was good fun on quad bikes we booked a private tour which was very good. The shisha was availble every night after 5pm and was amazing really friendly staff a credit to the hotel although I feel sorry for them as this is right next to the mini disco area at night and children are not a good combination with beanbags coal and glass. Although nothing bad happened I feel this area needs screening off with glass from the stage to protect children from danger and allow those who wish to shisha to do so without having to grab hold of the pipe every time five kids dive oast onto a bean bag (constructive criticism only) The hotel gets sun from dawn till dusk is well positioned and well thought out. The grounds are very nice but still evolving we watched plants double in size and new bar open on the beach plus various quality of life upgrades while we were there. Building is finished as don't be put off by reviews that say it isn't they are old. There are still some upgrades going on this is a fluid and dynamic process which absolutely did not negatively impact our stay i fact it enhanced it with a new beach bar and bean bag lounge area with gazebo to. I would gladly return ASAP but unfortunately I fear the hotel is to be out of my price range by the time I next travel given the standard the team are aiming to create. Special mentions for the shisha team the head chef, abul of the aqua centre but above all Walid of the management team Jay Jay of THE animation team for making our stay special even tho we didn't really engage in animation Jay went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and Walid wortks incredibly hard is very effective as a manager with a hands on style I really appreciate in a leader. Don't hesitate to try the hotel out its really quite an experience and this end of hurghada was a huge benefit over the enclosed prison camps of el gouna and the likes with armed guards. (that's how those hotels were described to us by the people we met at the airport leaving many of them felt trapped and unsafe while we felt free and relaxed) we walked freely around the whole area completely safely without any need for armed guards the locals are friendly although the taxi drivers are a breed of their own. Also kudos to the general manager who engaged guests daily on his bike which is an ecologically friendly surprise. This hotel we illbe very popular in the next few years and although there were few English guests almost all staff spoke it well and the multinational atmosphere was generally very nice I honestly have no complaints about Russians or Germans like there were many nationalities who were peaceful pleasant people from romainia Russia Poland etc hotel was a welcome break from drunk british and Europeans we usually encounter at all...
Read moreTITANIC ROYAL - AN AVERAGE 4* HOTEL As a family with two children, aged 4 and 6, we stayed at Titanic Royal for nine nights in mid-March. We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. However, it's important to note that many of these favorable reviews were posted by accounts that had only one review, suggesting they might be questionable or possibly incentivized. While it's not a five-star hotel, it is a decent four-star accommodation by European standards.
PROS: The beach is long and sandy, with crystal-clear water. It's important to note that the sea experiences low tides, which is beneficial for children because the water tends to be warmer. However, this may not be ideal for swimming, as you'll need to venture further out. While the reef is small and predominantly dead, it still hosts a variety of fish, making it enjoyable for snorkeling. Another advantage is the availability of free à la carte restaurants. Guests can dine at all four restaurants without any additional charge during their stay. The food at these establishments is delicious and provides a fine dining experience. My personal favorites were the Italian and Mongolian restaurants. Additionally, the room service was excellent. We found our room clean every day, and it was also quite spacious. Fresh orange and strawberry juice during the breakfast.
CONS:
FOOD: Food was one of the biggest disappointments during our stay. While the à la carte restaurants were acceptable, the main restaurant consistently made it difficult for me to find something I enjoyed. The grilled meat was often overcooked, there were no fish fillets available, and the local stews were unappealing. The breakfast menu remained the same every day, and the dinner menu was similar each evening, with only a few new dishes introduced daily. Additionally, snacks like chips or nuts were not available during the daytime. There is a snack bar on the beach that serves pizzas, french fries, hot dogs, pastries, and ice cream (which was not good), along with some meat options. Some of the food is acceptable, but don’t expect authentic Italian-style pizza. During the last few days of our stay, I was waiting to go back home to taste our local food :D ALCOHOL: The second disappointment was the alcohol. All the cocktails were below average—synthetic and made from low-quality spirits. They served drinks in plastic glasses outside, and sometimes even in disposable plastic cups, which made the cocktails look unappealing. They were unable to make a proper Mojito, Piña Colada, or Tequila Sunrise. Gin and Tonic was Ok, but the gin itself was of low quality (Egyptian). It was the first place where I saw a bartender putting an ice cube in a glass of white wine, as they couldn’t even chill it properly. The only good option was the beer. I recommend bringing your own spirits if that’s important to you because you cannot so easily get it in Egypt. POOLS: In March, the pools were freezing cold; only one pool is heated, along with the children's pools. STAFF: The staff doesn't seem happy. You are not always greeted. If you do not tip, you will not be served. And even if you do tip, they may forget you. Additionally, I did not find it convenient for them to touch my kids. ANIMATION: Children's animation is often repetitive and geared toward kids up to 3 years old. Animation for adults is average. After 10 PM, the hotel was quite calm. CLEANLINESS: Some areas, like hotel rooms, the lobby bar, and the area near the pools, are clean. However, the main restaurant lacks cleanliness.
It was our first visit to Egypt. For our AI concept trips, we typically go to Turkey or Spain. In a similar price category in those countries, everything is better—better food and service. I would like to try a nicer hotel in Egypt to get a clearer perspective on the hotel options there. Would I consider going back to Titanic Royal? Maybe, but only at a...
