I came to San Salvador on a mission trip in July 2023. I came with a group of people and we stayed here for 12 days. The hotel is owned by an Adventist woman and she was so kind enough to work with our mission manager to let us stay for 12 days and made sure we were taken care of. The rooms are pretty small for a couple. I went with my husband and it was a very tiny room with not a lot of space to move around. There is also no iron in the room. You have to ask the front desk for it. But the housekeepers came and clean every day, the toilet and shower works and never broke, and the Air Conditioning Unit worked well (that's very important because it's super hot here!) The breakfast that's provided every morning is amazing!! They serve a lot of Salvadorean food and some American food, but all very tasty. There's a pool in the hotel and it's always clean. I was too busy to jump in but only could sit at the side and dip my feet in. There is a hotel cat, the cat is with the hotel owner and the cat is very friendly so don't be alarmed if you see a car roaming around. The hotel is in a great location, less than 10-minute walk from a big mall. I went there twice to shop and eat lunch. Finally, all of the hotel staff don't speak much English, so make sure you know some Spanish phrases. You can use Google translate to help you communicat with the staff. I would learn how to ask for your breakfast ticket to get breakfast, how to ask for an iron, and how to ask for more towels from the...
Read moreThis is an inexpensive but decent hotel in San Salvador. Advertised rates when I was there March 20 - 29, 2015, was $29 for a single. I had a room on the second floor above the reception desk that was a triple (3 single beds). It had air conditioning that was somewhat noisy but drowned out the traffic noise. The room was small by US standards, but clean and adequate. The bath was small but had hot water in the shower. The courtyard where breakfast is served and where a small pool is available was comfortable. Breakfast was reasonable for the price. I would avoid the coffee machine near reception that claims to dispense cappuccino for a price. I tried it twice and never got anything that tasted like coffee from it. The owners of the hotel are religious and do not serve alcohol although they allowed the group I was with to bring in wine and beer for our meetings. I would recommend the place for travelers on...
Read moreI was electrocuted when I was having a shower! Look up the suicide shower head. I had never heard of it until I was electrocuted and found out thats what the shower head was called (and for good reason). The lady we reported it to didn't actually make a note of it, she never wrote it down and actually kept a report. We found that out from another staff member we talked to about it. It was really scary, and if not for the sandles I was wearing I'd probably be dead or severely injured.the beds are old spring mattresses so my back was killing from the springs being so uneven and worn. The pool was disgusting, green and polluted, there was a sign up saying not to use the pool. The only nice thing about thus place is the area around the pool where they serve breakfast. I would have given it 2 stars but after being electrocuted I can't justify it. Only stay here if you have...
