Plaza Hotel and Suites — Hotel in San Salvador

Lovely hotel. Clean, spacious with excellent facilities and a fantastic breakfast! Staff were very welcoming in check-in and quick to amend the dates that they had not updated from prior correspondence. They were attentive and assisted us with advice and taxis to fill our free time. The swimming pool was great- clean, well-maintained and ambient temperature. The gym was well-stocked and clean too. Location- very easy to get around in San Salvador and well placed next to the World Trade Centre for an array of food. The Sunday handicraft market there was an added bonus. Breakfast was fantastic- delicious fresh fruit, pastries and local fare. The coffee was divine and my friendly waitress always filled my big travel mug for me each morning- very much appreciated to fuel the day ahead. Dinner was also good- the buffet was fab with fresh barbecued meat but I also loved the coconut and mango salad and the prawn...

Room was a 1 bdrm which was nice. Sofa was to hard for my taste. View were spectacular from my room. Bathroom is tiny if you sit on the toilet the wall will be in your face. Water is inconsistent. Sometimes comes out slow sometimes fast and sometimes cold and sometimes never can get a got shower. Think I had 1 hot shower rest were freezing Cold…room service is available though I did not order from them so cant tell about my experience with that. Check in (possibly the slowest in the world on our visit) is at the Crown Plaza. Ask for directions to the old block on the other side of the pool as reception may not tell you. Rooms are much better value than at the main hotel; just discounted as they are older. But decent living room area and a microwave and coffee pot added. ||The pool is a nice size between the two buildings.
