stayed here as solo female traveler for 4 nights over New Year's eve in the 4-bed dorm and really loved it - super small family run hostel with only about 12 beds. There was a big shelf space in the dorm to put your backpack, curtains, a light in your bed, a fan, outlets, and small shelf. There is also a small locker outside in the hallfway for each guest to use their own (bring a padlock). I didn't get to enjoy the (now) $15 USD pupusa classes at night or the NYE family dinner (my plans didn't align), but that means I will have to come back! Alex and his family were wonderful: so many QR codes for information such as where to eat, where to catch the buses from, what will be closed around the holidays, etc. My cousins visited from staying @ another hotel and they said the Casa Coco staff was more helpful and knowledgable than their own hotel!! There is a communal kitchen to use, with strong wifi and tons of places to sit, chill, relax. I love how there is a courtyard out back plus a terraza upstairs in front. After certain hours you must use your key to get in, which I appreciated the extra layer of security. We did the volcano hike & lago coatepeque from here with Hanssel, ~$23 USD pp, with transport included. The fee was basically to be our chaffeur all day which was cool because we ended up taking our time and didn't get home until 7pm! I would stay here again. You can also pay for your stay with credit card but there is a small...

I’ve done my fair share of backpacking and this is by far one of my favourite hostels I have ever stayed in! Alex is an incredible man and his drive to create the perfect hostel is evident, he’s put so much effort and knowledge from being a walking guide into this place. His understanding of the area is flawless. There’s QR codes with custom maps for food, buses, entertainment, The bathrooms are well designed with good water pressure and kept spotless, great well stocked hostel kitchen, 3 awesome hangout areas with comfy cushions, the beds are comfortable and have good placement of plug ins and fans. There are so many little details that cumulate in a great experience. The pupusa making class is SO GOOD! 10/10 if you’re in Santa Ana you...

Fantastic hostel, it is very homely & the interior design is beautiful. Yolanda & her staff are what makes it so special, she is a really kind lady and was able to help me out when I wanted to stay an extra night even though the hostel was fully booked.

I also recommend the Seven Waterfalls Hike Tour with Rico who works at the hostel. We had a great time with him. I recommend you do the tour on the weekend because the town of Juayua (where the tour is based) has a food festival on the weekends so you can eat there afterwards.

Great experience at this hostel, the people are so lovely and you feel at home! Also breakfast is sometimes...

We been there for the cooking lesson of pupusas. It was 10$ for the lesson, approximately 2 hours. You help cutting the veg, get explanation how to do and cook, all in Spanish. You eat what you and everyone else cook and also you have a drink included, either a beer or a bottle of water. The negative point was that we were maybe 30 people for the lesson, it was packed. Very noisy and not easy to hear what the last was teaching us.
