Where to start??? I put 3 stars for the service. Because for some reason even when I didn't accept the early check it, at the time of the check out I had a €68 charge pending. Thankfully Olekja (if I remember correctly the name) was so kind of solving it very quickly during the check out. About the breakfast service 😐 I couldn't say that it isn't a service of a 4 star hotel at all... (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF NATASHA THAT DID AN AMAZING JOB during Saturday's service). There were around 5 waitresses, and only Natasha was worrying about taking all the dishes very fast EVERYWHERE (not only in her section). The others were slow for such a busy service, and they didn't show any care... Oleshka, black hair, ponytail (or something similar, nobody was using their name tags until Sunday) was putting new cutlery and refilling the bowls WITHOUT GLOVES, and putting the food left in the old 🥣 in the new ones INFRONT OF THE GUESTS!!! THAT SHOULD BE ALWAYS A NO!!!! Also "chefs" putting the pastry or bread directly from the tray that they use to cook, even with the paper used to do it, infront of the guests... It looks 🤢 Fried eggs were not cooked well, the "warm" food was cold. They put the vegetables to cook at the same time, so the onions weren't almost even cooked. A blonde girl (Finnish) filling the stations, didn't even bother to put in the trolley some dirty dishes from a table near the station... Why? Some not very fresh food in the cold food station, some not clean stuff on the stations, food served looking not very presentable during the service that wasn't taking care (even though I stay almost 1 hour and a half on Saturday for breakfast). I would recommend the staff to work as a true team, not only focus on their station/section/task, and help each other. They also left DURING ALL THE SERVICE the door of the kitchen open, so you could see how they were cleaning everything, throwing the trash that they picked up from the tables... Sorry but that looks 🤢 also. Those doors can be opened easily without the need of having them open all the time for the guests to see what's going on in the dishwashing section of the kitchen. Also the reception fridge was empty Saturday (all day), except on Sunday that they fill it. If it wasn't for things I notice in the breakfast service I would have put a 5 stars. I will recommend to improve the things I mention above. And recognised the people that work really hard, as a team, as Natasha (gentle, very fast, detail oriented, small, kind of light orange/blonde hair). The House Keeping was great in the room, in the sauna and gym area. The views, and the place is very good. The open sky pool of the rooftop is great, I recommend it highly (even when it's snowing).

I was left really disappointed with my stay in Clarion Helsinki. The place was packed for new year. We decided to use the self check in. It gave us 1 keycard which supposedly was configured to open our door. After queueing for the elevators and finally getting up, we noticed the keycard didn't work so we just wasted our time and needed to wait in a really long line that circled around the lobby to get another keycard from the reception. We stayed in a "Deluxe King Room". We requested originally a room that would overlook Senaatintori a few months back but the room was facing at the opposite direction. The room itself felt low quality. For example the minibar door was left open from either the cleaner or the previous guest, the minibar cabinet itself was moving around in the closet if you decide to open the door. You can see from the images it's supposed to be bolted into the closet instead of just wobbling around there. The minibar was also missing the inventory listing so I called the reception to even know what the minibar was supposed to include. The wall had weird scratches to it and the electric outlets look as if they were installed by a drunk. Many of them are not aligned to the floor but instead in this awkward angle. The working chair looked quite dirty as you can see in the image. Sealant seam in the bathroom looked like it was done in a massive hurry. It had clear holes in it. I was consistently left feeling robbed by the amount of money I spent here vs. the quality I got. Nothing really felt nice, let alone impressive or "Deluxe King". We entered the first serving of breakfast and to our surprise, many of the hot foods were already cold. The foods themselves leave a lot to be desired. Nothing was really prepared with taste and everything felt like the bare minimum effort was put to it. The omelette lacked taste and was clearly just done in bulk from a concentrate, sausages and bacon were not properly prepared and the amount of people allowed in the breakfast area during Covid made "Clarion Loves You"-napkins feel like a joke. Definitely didn't feel like customer safety was taken seriously, people were treated as cattle.

Not very happy with the check in system. I arrived at 12:00 booked my room for 6 nights worth EURO1700 and then the receptionist said the system is down and not able to check in. So, I thought ok I‘ll go for coffee or food BUT there’s noooo cafe, or welcome drink or water or anything you could get since the hotel DO NOT HAVE a restaurant and the one attached is closed on Sunday. Bar opens at 5pm and there’s only snacks And I told them ok no problem I’ll go outside so I went for a drink and got back at 13:38 and wanted to start the check in process and guess what - system down I understand check in is at 3pm, if you keep your strict policy I expect the lounges you have provides basic amenities with drinks or food or place where your guest could hang out or work and quench thirst. But it’s a pity that nothing is provided neither being mentioned on the website So, I asked them ”tell me about manual check in? How about that? “ Or what happens if the damn system is down at 15;00 so do I have to sit and bloody wait till your system is up? How do you plan to handle this? What if the queue is long? What if it takes longer than 30mins? So, you guys can’t just can’t start the process earlier? You rather make your guests wait…. I just couldn’t believe it! At this moment of time, if I could, I would have cancelled my reservation and head to other hotel!!!! It’s a pity that I’m stuck since the reservation is non-refundable of a total of EURO1700 Now, I am thinking it seems like it’s just the start of a problematic stay…. I booked this hotel because of the reviews but damn my experience right from the beginning is not as expected 😅 I’ll update my review as I go with all of my 6 nights stay and wish me luck that there’s still ray of hope

Huge disappointment! Cleaning staff is made out of some people who don’t understand neither local nor English language, asked for cleaning three times and in the end they brought to our room bedsheets and towels and told us to clean ourselves 😂😂 like really great service hotel guests cleaning themselves ! After 16.00 there was only one person working in the entire hotel, so one receptionist, so How can 1 receptionist be responsible for great service of 16+ floors ?

Then you come to the bed the king sized bed which u especially ordered , according to all international standards and you see simply two small beds pushed together ... the size is much smaller than standard king size bed, it is not even one bed but two beds pushed together. You would expect to have big comfortable bed of king size when u especially booked it , but no u get a room with two small beds pushed together even though u paid extra for king sized bed and the staff simply tells u, this is our king sized bed and that’s it 😂🤯😂🤯 so we have travelled all around the world and stayed in many hotels and king sized beds have same standards but this was impossible to argue ... so please hotel manager or whoever responsible for this if it is not a king size bed so not write on ur website this term, write the truth two small beds Pushed together.. 🤯

Breakfast to the room came late, when we asked for a pen to be brought to our room to fill in the breakfast in bed paper, we were told to wait one hour after which nothing even came, we had to go downstairs ourselves. Rooms have absolutely no character, no decorative items at all, it seems u just came into half ready room where all is white white white and super non cozy atmosphere. Air conditioner worked every second time only after pressing the buttons million times, lamp in the room didn’t work. And after having such a horrible stay in one of the best rooms that was offered, nothing was compensated not even some voucher for next stay or something.

But this all is not the WORST this only comes 😂😂 so this hotel is famous for its amazing views ( which is great and true) and their pool area and saunas at the top floor with amazing views ... But NOWHERE SAYS THAT THE POOL IS HALF OPEn AIR SO IMAGINE FINLAND, when even in the summer it’s almost never too hot, pool at the seaside hotel where is always extremely windy and cold... so you come to the hotel and want amazing swim and sauna 🧖‍♀️ experience and you enter the spa area and u 🥶 freeze.... it was -3 degrees outside, wind 🌬 blowing in entire swimming area... 💪 💨 strong wind... so u go with at least last hope that water would be warm... but NO water 🥶 cold.... all people who used the pool got sick the day after not even talking about kids... poor kids... and this one star that is left is for the amazing bar upstairs this was really cozy beautiful and great service ❤️would never stay in this hotel again, but for a drink to the bar I will come one day .

Oh almost forgot the parking, 🤯 so for parking the car at the hotel u need to pay extra payment which was super expensive and still walk from the parking towards the hotel 10-15 min with impossible winter wind 💨 in ur face which blows you almost away ( cos it is always so at seaside in Finland) so horrible service... it could have been amazing hotel if service staff was for example of local origin and more of service staff would have been there, pool would be inside and very well heated and if parking service would exist as well as more cozy rooms would have been made.

Came here as a staycation here last minute for 2 nights with my boyfriend, then extended our stay for 2 more nights. Our room didn’t get cleaned somehow and it was the second day already, while I asked them if they can clean it on the phone they said it was marked by maids as cleaned- and in fact it wasn’t. As a solution they upgraded us to a superior room.

The next day, we thought to stay longer and I called front desk and asked if they have any deals for longer stays, receptionist named Marie gave us 2 options: a deal that if we want to stay for couple more days they will charge us standard price and keep our upgrade in superior room - so that would be the discount from them, or use the My Summer Treat 7 days campaign for 595€ that needs to be booked online and she can make sure we can stay at superior room and don’t have to move again.

We thought the 7 day deal was great, said will think about which one we want to take and that I would call back. At the end of the day, I came to front desk with my boyfriend, to tell her we decided to take the 7 days stay deal and to show her the booking code. She went to the back room and came saying this was a wrong deal- only valid for Vantaa, we can only offer you to stay here in Helsinki paying the superior price for 2 more nights. Basically took back everything she offered before, plus she was rude, started talking over me. She was so nice on the phone, but in person she was aggressive and disrespectful. I’m in shock. Is this racism on my face? She left without confirming we will get a refund for the online booking. I asked to speak to her again so we can make sure we get the refund, she sent us a different person, Erica- she was at least nice and sweet spoken, she said she couldn’t do anything and have to wait till next day for the manager who comes at 2pm. Which helps us nothing, when we have to check out at 12. While I was talking to Erica, all of a sudden Iina standing next to us interrupted me while I was talking and started explaining things to me and talking over me when I didn’t even finish my sentence. I told her she is rude and aggressive. She didn’t even excuse herself to interrupt us, was talking down on me and telling me “you don’t know me. This is how I talk. I am explaining to you.”

What kind of customer service is this? Clarion is suppose to be a nice hotel, with nice service.

My boyfriend was about to book more days anyways, but I decided to check if they can offer us something, here they had a chance to let us stay longer by offering us an even longer stay and they completely ruined our experience with this unacceptable treatment and horrible customer service.

I can’t express how upset it makes me. So rude, so degrading. Talking so nicely on the phone, and they see in person they completely change their attitude and treatment. These two Finnish women at the front desk Marie and Iina really need to learn how to provide customer service, not just ok, but great, you work for a great hotel -you better have great service matching with it, not a service like they are in some underground trashy bar you see in movies. Where to start???

I put 3 stars for the service. Because for some reason even when I didn't accept the early check it, at the time of the check out I had a €68 charge pending. Thankfully Olekja (if I remember correctly the name) was so kind of solving it very quickly during the check out.

About the breakfast service 😐 I couldn't say that it isn't a service of a 4 star hotel at all... (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF NATASHA THAT DID AN AMAZING JOB during Saturday's service).

There were around 5 waitresses, and only Natasha was worrying about taking all the dishes very fast EVERYWHERE (not only in her section). The others were slow for such a busy service, and they didn't show any care... Oleshka, black hair, ponytail (or something similar, nobody was using their name tags until Sunday) was putting new cutlery and refilling the bowls WITHOUT GLOVES, and putting the food left in the old 🥣 in the new ones INFRONT OF THE GUESTS!!! THAT SHOULD BE ALWAYS A NO!!!! Also "chefs" putting the pastry or bread directly from the tray that they use to cook, even with the paper used to do it, infront of the guests... It looks 🤢 Fried eggs were not cooked well, the "warm" food was cold. They put the vegetables to cook at the same time, so the onions weren't almost even cooked.

A blonde girl (Finnish) filling the stations, didn't even bother to put in the trolley some dirty dishes from a table near the station... Why?

Some not very fresh food in the cold food station, some not clean stuff on the stations, food served looking not very presentable during the service that wasn't taking care (even though I stay almost 1 hour and a half on Saturday for breakfast). I would recommend the staff to work as a true team, not only focus on their station/section/task, and help each other.

They also left DURING ALL THE SERVICE the door of the kitchen open, so you could see how they were cleaning everything, throwing the trash that they picked up from the tables... Sorry but that looks 🤢 also. Those doors can be opened easily without the need of having them open all the time for the guests to see what's going on in the dishwashing section of the kitchen.

Also the reception fridge was empty Saturday (all day), except on Sunday that they fill it.

If it wasn't for things I notice in the breakfast service I would have put a 5 stars.

I will recommend to improve the things I mention above. And recognised the people that work really hard, as a team, as Natasha (gentle, very fast, detail oriented, small, kind of light orange/blonde hair).

The House Keeping was great in the room, in the sauna and gym area.
