18grams — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

As of writing this review, I am on a coffee trip all around Europe and so far, this is by far the best café I have been in if you are into specialty coffee (especially light roasts).

The owner (who is the only worker I am pretty sure) is really passionate, knowledgeable and diligent in his work, you can see it in the details like purging the grinder when changing beans, etc.

The ambiance is spacious, modern but still cozy, especially with record player, sound system that goes with it and the flipping and changing of vinyls by the owner when it is done playing really makes this place feel like passion project of the owner rather than a business.

I don’t usually leave reviews (I think I have written 3 google reviews in my entire life) so when I say this is the best café I have ever been to, I truly mean it.

And the coffee prices were really honest :)

I like this place so much it made me profoundly sad when I had to leave Helsinki. Amazing coffee (highly recommend the pour-over!) and a music selection full of absolute gems on vinyl. I'd come here on slow mornings with a friend or two and just sit in front of the speakers for a full LP or two, and if you display interest and knowledge in the music in the selection, you may even get to make a request.

If you like Japanese-style vibe cafés with an emphasis on a cozy atmosphere, this is the place for you. There's many kinds of music but I especially loved the wonderful selection of jazz artists from around the globe and some bossa nova classics.

Pidän tästä mestasta niin paljon että tulin ihan haikeaksi kun piti lähtee Stadista. Loistavaa kahvia (suosittelen etenkin pour-overia!) ja musiikkivalikoima on täyttä timanttia levy levyn perään. Kävin tässä kiireettöminä aamuina parin kaverin kanssa ja istuksittiin parin levyn ajan aitiopaikalla kajarien eessä. Jos oot kiinnostunut ja tietäväinen valikoiman musiikkityyleistä niin saatat päästä vaikka esittämään levytoiveita.

Jos pidät japanilaistyylisistä vibakahviloista niin tässä olis sulle yks parhaista paikoista. Musakokoelmasta löytyy kaikenlaista, mutta pidin etenkin suuresta jazzivalikoimasta japanista kotimaahan ja rapakon taa, sekä muutamasta...
