Arctic Log Cabins — Hotel in Northern Lapland

This was our second trip to Finnish Lapland, the first time being in Yllas. Out of the two resorts I definitely prefer Saariselka, even though we had a three hour coach transfer to get there. We booked with Inghams both times who were great. ||We loved staying in this cabin, it had a certain charm and atmosphere that made us feel like we were deep in the Arctic Circle in a very traditional type of accommodation. We travelled as a family of 5, the children being 4, 6 and 8 years old. The only negatives were, the cabin was quite small, didn’t really have a comfortable seating/sofa area, it was very dark and we also missed having a drying closet. None of these points were enough to spoil our fun though. We actually enjoyed the dim lighting most of the time (until we were trying to find something!). To get to the centre of Saariselka it is probably a 20 minute walk from here, which is pleasant enough and didn’t bother us at all. Saariselka is a lovely place, lots of places to eat and drink, fairly close together and an amazing ski resort. The toboggan run here is brilliant, we spent a fair bit of time on this! To top the holiday off we were fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights, right over the cabin. ||We have booked to return to Saariselka but we are trying different accommodation next time. Very comfortable, warm, and snug log cabin. We absolutely loved our stay here. Rooms were clean, amenities were all operational, and it has a sauna to warm up and relax in. Rooms were comfortable and blankets kept us warm through the night.

We were also very lucky to have caught the Northern Lights just outside our cabin! The cabins also make a good background for our photos too. Place is dark enough to observe the Northern Lights, so we were very even happier with our stay.

Honestly one of the best holidays if not the best holiday i have ever had. I stayed in Finland and Saariselka for around a week and a bit and had the best experience ever. We stayed in this cabin and it had everything from a sauna and a lustrous shower and the beds was amazing. Didn't get to experience the northern lights but i know it is a main attraction in the area. Went skiing at the resort and it was so great. Honestly recommend so much for everyone looking to take a break and go on an amazing holiday. Lots of skiing, lots of food...
