Kuukkeli Log Houses Teerenpesä — Hotel in Northern Lapland

We have booked a premium suite for four people. The property is beautiful from inside but due to the excess amount of properties nearby, there is not much of a chance for either tranquility or serenity. The service was moderately okay, nothing of much importance. The toilets are relatively small, shower too. The heating was not adequate at all places. They placed warning signs everywhere about the fines they would impose in case of any problem, but there was very little information about using those facilities in the first place. The reception is far away from the properties and the breakfast is okay. Even during the off season, it was pretty expensive compared to the service we received. We loved this place! It was atmospheric, the staff was wonderful, the furnishings modern and sufficient to cook a nice meal. Location was perfect - very close to buss stop with bars and restaurantsand even bowling witin a 1 min walk.. Few things to note. Check in is a 5 min walk from the room. We stayed in 49 which has a private in-bathroom jacuzzi tub. 48 has the outdoor one and procate sauna. For some reason booking gave 2 options for 49 - choose the cheaper they are the same. There was a shared sauna where each room gets 1 hour (6:30-7:30pm for 49 when we went). Breakfast was basic - powdered eggs, sausage, not-crispy bacon, some cucumber tomatoes breads and really delicious salmon. Again...

The log cabin style is nice and cozy. Beds are clean and comfortable.

The breakfast is very mediocre - if you have the option, don’t pay for it, and just buy the food yourself and make it in your room. The kitchenette is less than basic (fridge, hot water boiler, and plastic spoons). If you’re not European, you may be shocked by the size of the shower, but at least the water is hot!

For me, one of the best parts was the location (close to XC ski trails, airport bus, restaurants, and rental stores). We never needed to take the ski bus because you’re so close to everything.
