Spent a night in Tampere in December to meet up with old friends and ended up at the Kauppakatu Forenom due to it being the least expensive hotel with a decent location and at such a short notice.
I was able to take care of all the administrative steps well before arriving in the city and got the access codes both by email and by SMS. The hotel itself was easy to find and perfectly functional: I was able to drop of my luggage on arrival and then head out to the cafés/bars a hundred metres away. Coming back around 4 A.M. posed no problems either!
The room was way nicer than what I had expected. Very clean, with a great shower and a decent bed. Kauppakatu is not a street with any kind of heavy traffic either, so noise was not an issue either. In the morning I was able to make myself a cup of disgusting instant coffee (is there any other kind anyway?), which is pretty much all I need for a good hotel wake-up.

Of course we have all payed the same amount of money, weird thing is; we have all gotten different quality of rooms. While one of us has gotten a suite, me and a classmate have gotten a room that would even make Harry Potter pitty us.
