While we really wanted to like your hotel, our experience was marred by one of your receptionists. She continually made us feel unwelcome and an imposition. I will give you examples so you can discuss if helpful. When we arrived she asked for payment right away (which was fine - we are happy to pay - but is not welcoming). When I then asked her where to park our rental car, she showed me the options and then asked me to pay the fee. I offered to but then she said it had to be cash !!! I had just paid with my card for he room and could have done it but she wouldn’t take a card. Because of that she asked every time she saw me for the money - it took me some time to find an ATM - and that is a very unpleasant feeling. On top of asking for it, that veryvsame night while we were leaving to go tour the last tapestry time , she stopped me again and asked me to move my car from where she told me to put it because of trash the next morning ??? It was only 530 at night and I couldn’t understand why I had to move it across the street but she insisted. It made us late for our tour and was very rude. As the customer, I don’t expect it to be my problem to help handle hotel business. Lastly, the same girl the next night - when we arrived back at 1030 from a very long day - I asked for our key ( in a normal voice) and she told me to shush - quiet like a child !!!! I didn’t yell nor were we loud - I couldn’t believe she had us shushed like children. At any rate, her behavior was upsetting and I have travelled all over the world and never have felt this unwelcome. As your business depends on tourists I hope this improves. Thank you for reading - she has the darker...
Read moreGreat location near Notre Dame and Tapestry and many restaurants. As an American used to larger US hotel rooms, mine was rather small with only a roof mounted window (skylight) and sloped ceiling on one side. I didn’t like how these still use an actual key but also you needed to use the key to lock yourself inside the room instead of simply turning a latch ( odd to me). I was with a group and several members complained they didn’t have hot water or intermittent hot water and heard another guest complain about same thing. They were not able to rectify this situation. My hot water was fine but the shower stall was extremely small and the handle and shower head were way too low making showering somewhat difficult. Breakfast was good but mostly French with breads and pastries as expected. They tried to prepare scrambled eggs and bacon but the eggs were very watery every day and the bacon seemed to be boiled. There was a lovely Canadian woman who worked the afternoon front desk and she very helpful. Dining area was tight, too but then again we were a large group (30+). I don’t recall seeing an elevator to the second floor but maybe it was on the other end, but it is an old building .There were only four parking spots on property, our bus parked a block or two away. Neighborhood felt very safe, Bayeux itself...
Read moreSomewhat disappointing, but ok…especially if on a tight budget. Staff was friendly and the place was clean and the air conditioning worked well. Location good…just 3 short blocks from center of town/cathedral. Upper level rooms do not have a window…only a skylight. Otherwise, this is straight out of the 1970s! Things are kept up, but it really doesn’t look like any significant renovations since then. Unlike some reviews that complained of lack of hot water, shower did have hot water (not as hot as I like it, but not uncomfortable), but the shower was a pre-fab stall 75x75cm (29x29”) with plastic sliding doors that didn’t really close tight. Toilet in a separate room (with no sink, so you had to go out into bedroom and back to shower/sink room to wash hands). No closet (only a set of shelves with a bar that stuck out from middle on which you could hang things). Breakfast was just OK. Watery eggs, cold ham, a quiche that looked good…until you realized it was ice cold. Good coffee machine at breakfast (none in room)|Parking is just about non-existent. The hotel has 3 or 4 spots that can be reserved (if you know about them in advance), but if you don’t, then not much around…good luck (we got very lucky with a free lot half a...
