Such a shame this evening ended with an absolute torrent of abuse and insults being delivered to us by the restaurant’s manager and senior waiter. We were happy to wait almost an hour to be seated, as this was one of the very few restaurant options open on a Sunday evening in Bayeux. While our order was taken promptly upon seating, the wait for the food took an hour. When this was questioned at the end of the evening, with polite conversation, asking for some cooperation in a slight reduction, or at least removal of some of the drinks, we were met with a torrent of abuse and insults from both the restaurant manager and the senior waiter. There was absolutely no discretion given. Despite a friend speaking to them in fluent French, they refused to remove the service charge or offer any compensation for the excessive wait for our meals. What started as a pleasant evening ended in a very disappointing and highly abusive encounter. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. When the food arrived, it was clearly rushed in preparation as our order had been forgotten - everyone around us, who ordered after us, were eating their desserts while we were still waiting for our mains. The biggest disappointment was the absolute lack of willingness to engage in a discussion regarding our customer experience, and to just have the humility to accept they had forgotten our order. They have absolutely no concept of customer service here. Avoid at all costs. I am not a person to complain, but on this occasion, I feel compelled to warn everyone of the potential outcome if you dare to question any part of your order or bill. I just feel being kind, friendly and civil costs nothing, yet they have no concept...

A CULINARY ATROCITY. The Normand Burger I ordered literally tasted like how horse shit smells, the fries were way overcooked, my mother ordered a chicken caesar salad that was not cooked enough and pink in the middle, and lettuce was cheap frozen and rubbery. While telling the manager that we did not care for the food he got arrogant. Saying: “nobody else has a problem with the food so it must just be you”. And: “you must have no taste for fine food” etc. Once we went to get the bill immediately after the managers pompous comments we had to speak to the cashier who was fine but said if we wanted the price off the bill that he would have to speak to his manager. Lo and behold it is the same manager that can do no wrong from before. We ask him to remove the overpriced meals from the receipt but only does it after one more smart ass remark. “Sorry, but uh if everyone else likes it then it shouldn’t be a problem (while gesturing to everyone outside smoking and drinking cocktails)”. Then I chime in and say it is absolutely a problem and say just remove it. He does with great pomposity and that was it. Would have paid $100 to these guys who won’t let you even criticize them if I didn’t put up with their...

I'm from NYC and am a foodie. I love eating in different types of places all over the world.

This place was very convenient and pretty. Although convenience doesn't mean the food tasted good. I would have given one star but they took back their food and gave me a refund. I didn't know what to order so I ordered their ham and I ordered a spaghetti, just to be safe in case the ham was bad. Ham I felt was a safe meat, it's fairly easy to make and usually comes pre prepared. All you have to do is heat it up. The ham I got was extremely dry and tasted like sandpaper. I was very disappointed but eagerly awaiting my spaghetti. The spaghetti finally came and it was burnt and had no sauce. I don't know how one can mess up a spaghetti in which you have to boil. I've never heard of a "sautéed" spaghetti that didn't have sauce. I don't know where the French pride was in this cooking but it was definitely lacking. How this was acceptable for people to eat from the French who are culinary Kings, I do...

Server seemed rude at first but was perhaps overly busy. Took a long time to get our orders in. Served by 3 different staff. Literally every course had at least one mistake. Drinks given to the wrong table. Beef was over cooked. Diner with a dairy allergy (staff made aware) was given dairy twice. One appetiser had to be requested twice. Dessert had to be requested 3x. Then we were double charged for an item. Kitchen staff argued with serving staff. Even just getting an extra bowl was apparently an issue. Oysters, cod, salad, and profiteroles were good, though. Asked for napkins twice and never got them. Had to ask for utensils multiple times. The most chaotic and annoying restaurant experience we've had in France so far. Although not the worst food.

We had just arrived in Bayeux and needed a quick lunch near the hotel before heading out to explore. Our goal was quick, good and easy. Well, we were in France, so the requirement turned into good and easy because there is no quick. We were seated on the patio (most of the restaurant is patio) in the midst of a lively lunch crowd. Our service was good and everything we ordere fit the need and the expectation perfectly. We split some salad, some fries, some cheese and some sausages. All very good. Then for dessert a crepe. This was not a great meal and the patio is a bit hot, but it was still a perfect launch into the French atmosphere. It totally fit the need.
