Hôtel Les Loges Blanches — Hotel in Bonneville

The hotel is fairly conveniently located: 15 mins walk to village center and 300 meters to Jaillet ski lift station. Coming back from that ski sector, you can almost ski in - just cross the road at Jaillet station, put skis back on and you can glide to within 40 m from the hotel (first straight then right between houses).

There are many positives about this 30-year old but relatively recently renovated and modernized hotel. The five houses it is made of are pretty. Our room was nicely modernized and tidy. Personnel was super friendly, including reception, shuttle drivers, ski shop, housekeeping. The shuttle service was always available with very short or no waiting time, both going to the slopes and coming back. The hotel also has collaboration with Richard Gay and his taxi service for e.g. transfers from/to Geneva, and they do a very good job. We did not try the heated outdoor pool nor the restaurant.

Then to the negatives. Two design/installation flaws in the bathroom: 1) at least in our room (#12 in building “Princesse”) the basket for shampoo etc is installed so low and close to the faucet handle that it is very difficult to control water flow and temperature: the lever goes between the wires of the basket. 2) at least in our room, the shower handle+tube and its holder were incompatible, from different series, so that the shower handle could not be placed and directed well. In fact, previous occupant had broken the cover of the tube trying to fit the handle to its holder. Kitchenette: there is a very small kitchenette with basics plus a decent coffee machine, for which capsules are provided daily, together with tea bags. But: the microwave oven is placed so low in a cupboard that it is next to impossible to operate. Especially as the control buttons are on the top. Not well thought. The toilet is so small that a grown up man has difficulties to enter and close the door, or open the door and exit. The sauna is like a giant barrel that can host barely four people at a time. The stove in the sauna is too small for throwing water on it (water just falls through) and temperature cannot be controlled. It was only 55 degrees inside, which is not a sauna. Should be 70..80 degrees. Furthermore, there is no shower facility next to the sauna, so people jump in the pool without a shower (yikes) or go back to their room to shower.

In a four-star hotel, I would not have expected these deficiencies. Further, given the nature of these flaws, there was nothing the hotel personnel could have...

No creo que este hotel sea el adecuado para quienes buscan una experiencia de lujo y atención personalizada.

Decepcionante, teniendo en cuenta las altas expectativas que tenía.

Problemas con la habitación: Solicité con varios meses de antelación e insistivamente una habitación con balcón, algo que para mí es un detalle importante. Sin embargo, me asignaron una habitación cuyo balcón daba a la calle, lo que resultó muy ruidoso por las mañanas con el paso de camiones y personas que me veían desde la calle. Pedí un cambio de habitación con vistas al jardín, pero me dijeron que no había disponibilidad, lo cual me dejó bastante decepcionado. Esperaba un trato más detallista en cuanto a la asignación de la habitación, especialmente dado que mi solicitud había sido realizada con anticipación.

Sorpresa estropeada para mi cumpleaños: Durante mi estancia, celebraba mi cumpleaños y mi pareja había organizado una sorpresa pidiendo un pastel en recepción. Sin embargo, cuando llamé para solamente cambiar la hora de nuestra cena, la recepcionista me mencionó sin querer que ya tenía un pastel, lo que arruinó completamente la sorpresa. Aparte de esto, no hubo ningún intento de compensar el error. Mi pareja tuvo que pagar una cantidad extra por algo que ellos mismos estropearon.

Servicio de recepción: El personal de recepción muy mejorable. Era muy joven y, lamentablemente, no mostraron la profesionalidad que esperaba de un hotel de 4 estrellas en Megeve. La falta de experiencia se notaba en la manera de manejar situaciones, como en el caso de la sorpresa de cumpleaños o en no reconocer la importancia que dabamos al balcón, para asignarnos una mejor habitación. Creo que este tipo de establecimientos deberían tener un personal más preparado y atento.

Problemas con la ducha: En cuanto a las instalaciones, la ducha apenas suministraba agua caliente, lo que fue muy incómodo, sobre todo después de un día de esquí.

En resumen, aunque la ubicación del hotel y las instalaciones eran correctas, la falta de atención a los detalles y la falta de profesionalismo en el trato hicieron que mi experiencia no fuera la esperada. A pesar de la belleza del lugar, no puedo decir que me sintiera bien atendido ni que mi estancia haya sido...
