Warm ambiance, civilised service, perfect for a coffee and a snack. I made the mistake of not ordering hot chocolate. Do order it as it is prepared right here right now and is served with crème chantilly on the side. Nonetheless the cappuccino was great. There a table right in the center of the room with all kinds of fresh treats you can pick from. I don’t know how longer more I can resist.

Mise à jour - 01/2025 J’ai eu le plaisir de redécouvrir La Chocolaterie de Megève - Le Soleil d’Or, et l’expérience a été, une fois de plus, exceptionnelle. Lors de cette visite, j’ai encore rencontré Mamie Chocolat en personne. Quelle rencontre ! Toujours souriante, dynamique et incroyablement élégante, elle incarne parfaitement l’esprit du lieu. Une véritable mascotte inspirante à tous les niveaux ! Nous espérons tous être comme elle à son âge – un vrai modèle à suivre. Côté gourmandises, tout était parfait : le chocolat chaud, préparé avec soin par Mamie Chocolat, était un pur délice. La tarte aux myrtilles, la forêt noire, et surtout la brioche toastée avec beurre et copeaux de chocolat, découpée à la main par Mamie elle-même, étaient tout simplement exquises. Toujours pleins, il faut s’armer de patience mais l’expérience en vaut la peine. Si vous aimez le chocolat et les belles rencontres, c’est une adresse incontournable ! J’ajoute quelques photos de ma visite pour vous faire saliver. 😊🍫

Unfortunately does not live up to the hype. We ordered the famous hot chocolate but the quality and taste was grainy, flavorless chocolate milk. We also had pastries which were dry and overpriced… i would not come again or recommend this place as you pay way too much for underwhelming food and service.

This was a true tourist trap. Don’t trust the reviews you read online. Worst hot chocolate of my life. The dessert buffet was terrible too. Grainy hot chocolate, dry cookies as if they were old. My husband ordered a tea, 30-minutes later he still didn’t get it. We ordered a water caraffe, we never got it. They are clearly understaffed and unhappy. We went basically for the hot chocolate, but i tasted more milk than chocolate and was not made in front of us as the written in the menu. Staff was not great: i had to chase them to order more stuff, they seems to not speak english and when asking information about the availability of the products they were not aware of it... at the end, we tasted the Millefeuille Chocolat and this was very good!!
