Résidence Club MMV Samoëns Village — Hotel in Bonneville

I believe in writing honest reviews that provide accurate feedback to fellow travellers and providers. In the majority of cases it’s easy to say what’s good or bad, what you liked or disliked. This isn’t and is subjective based on my personal view.||On paper it had everything, a new decent sized 2 bedroom apartment, that’s 5 minutes from the main ski lift and a similar distance from the town centre/outdoor pool and sauna/steam rooms. Nice balcony that overlooks the mountains which 4 can comfortably sit outside. All for a reasonable price.||Which makes it all the more puzzling that I was disappointed and would not book again. ||It’s those little things that add up.||First impressions count, it’s next to a building site, the parking at the front has broken plastic where someone has driven over a metal barrier. Trying to check in at 4.25 and being told to come back at 4.30. Being shown a list of rules on check in on how you must leave the apartment or will be charged. We’ve taken pictures as if really felt like if so much as a cushion was out of place you’d get a bill. Requesting late check, initially to be told you must pay a full day. Then 50 as per the website, then challenged again, which ended needing to prove by emailing them a copy of the screen shot.||They clearly didn’t want late check out as banging on the door before 10, 11 and 12. ||Parking in the underground car park is super safe but very expensive. The rooms are very modern but noisy, with little to no sound insulation with any door opening or closing seemly able to make the most disproportionate amount of noise.||The staff are wonderful and clearly following the rules which seemed to be...

We had 5 nights at MMV Samoens. As soon as we arrived at 1am, it was clear that the site was still a building site. There was no car parking unless you risk the multitude of No Parking signs. The only free parking is at the ice rink which is 500m away. The only other option is the MMV underground parking at 15 euros a night.||||They say beds are made up on arrival - one was and the other was not, so making a bed at 1.30am!||||We specifically booked this for the heated pool and outside swimming. And the outside hot tub. What a waste of money. The pool was so cold that you could not swim in it inside, let alone outside - it was a joke and no one used it. The hot tub was as cold as the pool, Why advertise this but not heat it to a useable temperature? Better to close it completely if its too expensive to run. The sauna and steam room were good, although are closed all day on a Saturday.||||It is close to the GME and the apartment was warm and very clean. Location is great, far from the city (1km walkable) but near the gondola. Staff is somewhat friendly but not very well prepared, they seem all a bit lost and without clear leadership. The google crome was not working when asked the answer was that they would fix it soon, when I asked when soon was the reply was by the end of the season... Despite I had received information that check out was at 12 which was in my booking, the lady at the counter wanted me to check out at 10, or do me a favor untill 11.. the pool is supposedly heated to stay at 28C. It was never at this temperature, probably more like 20 when asking about it answers always very strange. The guy that maintains the pool removes the cover at 08:30 when first guets are allowed at 10:00. When trying the pool at 10:15 it was already very cold. So a decent place for the price but the clear lack of leadership, the miss communication and many small issues (I did not mention it all) was quite alarming and I think MMV should carefully look into it as is damaging...
