Fabio Restaurant — Restaurant in Bonneville

Expensive, in-personal, disengaged staff. We were a large group of 22 so pre-ordered the day before. We were split up on two tables of 10 and 12, which was fine. Instead of checking the orders and cooking for each table in turn, the dishes came out in a random order over 35 minutes. My wife and I sat next to each other and had ordered an identical fish dishes. Hers arrived 30 minutes after mine, with a side order of chips she did not want. The lamb dishes were tepid, (nearly cold). It took 3 trips to the counter to get staff to stop chatting and get the bill drawn up. The staff were mostly disinterested, except for one waitress who was bothered. Her advise on their 'house' white and red wine was helpful; both are very good. Can't heap enough praise on this superb recently opened restaurant. We were a party of 9 adults and 11 kids and had the opportunity to dine 3 evenings during a recent midterm ski week. I'm confident that between us ALL we pretty much have tasted every dish on the menu and it's all outstanding. Best Italian cuisine in Samoens, attentive super kind waiters and in particular Ronaldo who was spot on with his food and wine recommendations every time. It was touching to see that the entire restaurant team including chefs and manager ALL shared a meal every evening prior to opening up. Mustn't forget to mention Fabio's sister cafe in same hotel complex, ideal for early morning caffeine hit before hitting the slopes(best Italian trained barista in Samoens). Can't wait to...

Fabio is a lovely restaurant and we have always enjoyed going there in the past. However, this time they had a fixed menu which we were not expecting and the lack of choice meant that we did not enjoy our experience as much as we did previously. Our teenage children did not enjoy the menu, some of which included an alcohol course which they could not have but was still included in the bill. I would not have booked if I had realised that the a la carte menu was not an option. The staff are very nice, especially the lady in charge but the service was much slower than before.
