Having read previous reviews, I was concerned but found no need. Yes the rooms are small but immaculately clean. Very comfortable beds and even a view from the window of Bastille Day fireworks. The night concierge was excellent, really helpful and friendly. Nothing seemed to phase him. We slept soundly in comfort in day freshly washed bedding. Next morning we showered in a spotless compact shower room with toilet and handbasin. There were complementary soaps, a pleasant shower gel, whiter than white soft towels and floor mat, toilet rolls and disposable tooth brush cups. The morning concierge was as friendly, helpful and keen to assist. We breakfasted on a choice of coffees - instant decaf also provided- and teas. There was Cereal, both cornflakes and a wholemeal version , croissants, mini pain au raisans, Madeleines, biscottes, jams - sadly no marmalade. The butter, milk and yoghurts were kept in a counter top fridge. There was also Orange and Apple juice. And all of this for 5 euros! Pretty impressive.
If I had to score out of 10 I would be a 9 and the only reason it's not a 10 is due to room size. Not a lot they can do about that! I'd definitely go back again when I'm driving past Dreux in either direction.
Thank you Hotel Kyriad for a brilliant...
Read moreThe worst hotel I ever stayed in was in what appeared to be a former brothel (and am talking extreme basic version) in the back blocks of Laos.||I never thought I would find the second worst hotel, less than a two hour drive from Paris.||This hotel resembles a prison complex; with harsh lighting, nasty cheap furniture, thin walls and doors, unpleasant odours, threadbare towels which are a shade of grey; bed linen and pillows that had seen better days and mould in the bathroom.||The lock didn’t work in my colleague’s room; the state of the bathroom in another colleague’s room was so disgusting that she used ours; and to add insult to injury, there’s not enough tables in the breakfast room so people stood around waiting for others to finish.||And all of this for … wait for it .. 95,99 euros a night.||Please, don’t stay here. It is one extremely unpleasant experience that nobody...
Read moreWhere do I start??? We booked a double room only to be told they only had a twin room left. We weren't happy but we accepted this. On entering the room there was a foul smell. The small room was dusty, every bit of wood including the wall which doubled as a headboard was sticky. The pillows were practically non existent and when we asked for more was told there wasn't any as the hotel was fully booked. The bathroom was dirty and I felt dirtier once I'd had my shower. This was only a stop over for 1 night so wasn't looking for anything fancy but this was well below that. We've stayed in far nicer hotels for the same amount we paid. Definitely wouldn't stay there again. Shame we couldn't give less...
