Logis Hôtel le Belvédère — Hotel in Gourdon

We didn't stay at Le Belvedere so I can't comment on the hotel itself but we did eat at the restaurant. It was going to be our 'fancy' evening meal together as it was our last night in Rocamadour. The views are AMAZING but unfortunately that was the only good point. The food is incredibly expensive for incredibly poor quality. We both ordered cocktails that were so strong they were basically undrinkable (we are not unseasoned drinkers but even so). We also both ordered the same food which was the specialty burger with a side of chips. We asked specifically that the burgers be well done, but when they arrived they looked like the cow they came from had been donked on the head and put straight on our plates, never having seen the inside of an oven or grill. The chips were still cold, hard potato under the skin and completely inedible. When we pointed this out to the lady that served us, the smile vanished from her face and we were completely ignored for the rest of the evening. We refused to pay for the drinks but begrudgingly paid the food bill, and were then shown the door without so much as an 'Au Revoir'. Appalling service and appalling food compared to some of the other restaurants in town. The restaurant almost opposite Le Belvedere, Le Panorama, in particular was superb. Amazing! We had the best stay at Hotel Le Belvedere in Rocamadour. We had initially booked to stay for 2 nights, but added a 3rd night whilst we were there because it was so good. The staff were so pleasant and helpful, the hotel was super clean and the food in the restaurant was wonderful. The view of rocamadour from the hotel is incredible. Car parking is easy in the hotels grounds, and the pool, which is located at a sister hotel up the road was fantastic. Rocamadour itself is easily accessible, we drove to the car park at the bottom of the hill and used the little train because it was so hot, but I think it would take about 20 mins to walk there. Can’t recommend this hotel enough, the staff, rooms, restaurant, location and all other facilities are fantastic. I can’t believe it is only a 2 star!! We spent an excellent evening at this lovely, very well priced hotel|The room was a good size and immaculately clean with effective air conditioning.|The view of Rocamadour is exceptional and even more special when lit up in the evening. We were even treated to the sight of hot air balloons over the town in the morning.|The bathroom has everything you need and again was spotless with plenty of hot water|We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was lovely and very well priced|The buffet breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice |Every member of staff were helpful, courteous and full of good humour and made us feel so welcome|Parking is free and plentiful|We will definitely return next time for longer to enable us to explore...
