Poor service, initially asked to reserve a table on the terrace next to barrier for unobstructed view of the village for lunch the following day, told tables could not be reserved. Came back short time later as these tables were free to eat that evening only to be told they had already been reserved. What a contradiction. Against my better judgement decided to eat at this restaurant, which I later regretted. The wine was pleasing, first course, trotters was lovely, after a good start it went downhill. The cassoulet with confit of duck was poor, the sauce was tasteless, the duck was overcooked and dry, also just the drumstick not the full leg. Elsewhere I’ve always had a full leg. The bread for the first course was lovely and soft, the subsequent bread was dry on one side. Obviously due to the speed of the service, the food appears not to be cooked fresh for each customer. On reflection it’s the location that sells this restaurant not the food as by it nature it’s passing trade and I doubt if anyone eats there more than once, I certainly won’t be a returning client and won’t put this restaurant on my recommendation list for anyone I meet...
Read moreBooked for two in person with our two vizslas.... wow did we feel uncomfortable and unwelcome when we visited.
We were seated, then moved next to a group but they said "no! No no no!" when they saw us and the dogs. We then moved back to the original seats. The waitress then sat a family next to us who then saw the dogs and fled!
I think perhaps if you are not mindful of your customers' sensibilities, don't allow dogs in. We would understand that.
Also, the waitress took drinks orders one by one, disappeared got the drinks (bottles of wine, cocktails etc) so 20 minute wait for a drink and food order and then the food appeared literally 3 minutes later.
We paid 82.50 euros for a course meal (ok, with a bottle of wine) and we left within 35 minutes. Really weird, uncomfortable and awkward....
Read moreWe arrived and hadn't booked a table, but we're shown to a fine table overlooking the valley and castle, which was stunning. We both chose the fillet of cod on mashed potato, carrots, and samphire. The dish was perfectly executed, well balanced, delicious, and very healthy. We shared a bottle of white wine and a large bottle of water, and a double espresso was had to finish. The setting and food are stunning, and the ambience is perfect. Service was attentive and not rushed, and the restaurant and facilities were very clean. All in all, this restaurant is highly recommended when visiting the beautiful medieval city...
