Pest control and customer service are two things you want your hotel to be good at. When I found what appeared to be a bedbug in my room and presented the bug to the guy at the front desk, he dismissed my concern, blaming the presence of a bug on construction without addressing my specific concern that it looked like a bedbug. He barely looked at it before tossing it aside and when I pressed him on the matter, he said “look, I’m just a guy who needs to keep his job”. When I emailed hotel management about my concerns, they dismissed me again, without even looking at the photos I had taken of the bug. “Everything in the room is new, we could find no evidence of bugs and have never had a bedbug problem”, as though bedbugs care about the age of furniture and as though no past problems means no present or future problems. They refused to address my concern further, did not ask for more information and refused any potential form of compensation.||By the end of the day I had received confirmation from an entomologist friend that it was a look-alike, but not a bedbug. I was relieved to not have an infestation on my hands, but completely disappointed by the lack of competency and care on the part of the hotel. They did EXACTLY what people do when they are dodge a problem they are...
Read moreThe only good thing about this stay is the fact that the hotel was built near the metro or the metro was built near the building within which the hotel operates - whichever came first. ||||Everything else is a FAIL. The receptionist was unfriendly. The lift can only fit one person + luggages at a time. Or luggages only. Or 2-3 people only. ||We were given a room which had one wall exactly the same side as the elevator shaft so every time the lift moved, it was as if a train was approaching. The bed was squeaking every single time I breathed. The pillows were more like just a pillow case. ||||The bathroom was gave out an awful smell. The bath tub/shower was located exactly next to the bidet so every time we had to go into the tub, we had to open our legs so wide to step over the bidet. Getting in and out of the tub felt like my life is at 50/50 risk of falling and hitting my head. ||||There was supposed to be WIFI in the room. But it was not working our whole stay. My friend went down to the reception to inform them that there is no wireless in the room. All she got from the receptionist is: "Well it is working here". We did not bother complaining any further as we had better things to do. ||||The hotel needs an overhaul. Both rooms and facilities. As...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting hotel, first of all; When you walk inside the hotel you get overwhelmed by a sewer like smell that hangs in the reception area. When you take the old and raggedy elevator it smells like a sewer as well. Every floor basically stinks. The first room we got had people smoking cigarettes in the room next to us, when I opened the window for some fresh air the smoke from the other room came flying in from their open window. The room itself was nasty, holes in the floor, the bed had all types of dirty stains on them. The shower was dirty and also had all types of stains on it. All the walls are hollow and you can hear everything your neighbours are talking about. I understand that it’s a 2 star hotel but when you pay still a lot of money the least you can expect is the room itself to be clean. That was not the case. We finally got a new room after going down and telling the receptionist about it. The second room turned out better with a usual shower and it looked somewhat renovated. Either way I felt like I got robbed. Hoping this is not the standard in a Paris but next time I’d rather go a day or two less to stay in a 4 star hotel.
