Pascal and crew were so lovely! I really appreciate all of their help. There were a few things in relationship to design that could have been better. Granted they probably won’t do anything about it because it’s the infrastructure of the spaces. Having said that if they ever decided to build another one, these are things they should consider. The bathroom is very tight. The placement of fixtures create even less space for the human body. If the fixtures, the tissue box, the shower faucet, the shampoo and soap dispensers replaced in spaces that human body needed. It would seem bigger and feel bigger than it really is. Standing in the shower with the fixture at the same height as your bra is awkward. The toilet brush could’ve been on the opposite side of the toilet and that would create more space for the human body. The toilet paper roll holder could’ve been placed underneath the sink. All of these things would’ve been thoughtful and very well appreciated in such a small bathroom. As much as I’m sure the thought of putting the bed up against the window wall might seem inappropriate it would give more space to move around in and possibly even create more space for hanging some of the things in your suitcase and possibly even introducing a chair to sit on in the very small room. I didn’t have a problem with the fact that the room was small. I had a problem with the fact that things were placed symmetrically in a space that there was not enough room to move around in or unpack or feel flexible and how you moved around in the space. And the space is small, but that’s not the problem. It’s the placement of the things in the space that makes it harder than it has to be. It’s pretty and the bed is nice in the fixtures are fun it’s just it could’ve been thought about one step further and how does it feel to be in that space. Lastly, and I’m sure everybody is aware of it the elevator, even though I didn’t have to use. It is very awkward with the landings being in the middle of the staircase as opposed to the floors that you’re going to. It makes it quite dangerous as well to manoeuvre up and down the stairs when the elevator door is all of a sudden opening and people are coming off of it. I am certain there is no answer to fix that situation or I’m sure you the hotel would have done it. However, it should be something to consider. The staff is amazing. The location is great there’s so much potential. Would I stay there...
Read moreStop right there. I know what you’re doing. Researching your ideal Paris hotel, comparing reviews on Booking.com and TripAdvisor; seeing Hotel Locomo and thinking “Hey, this one is a little cheaper than the others. The room looks funky too. We’ll save €100 Euro as well, instead of booking this other hotel.”||||Well, don’t - would be my advice.||||The problems start when you try to get to your room. No lift from the ground floor (weird), so you struggle with your heavy cases up two flights of stairs. Opening your Standard Room door, you might think you’ve accidentally walked into a storage cupboard. No? Definitely your room, with barely enough space for two people to navigate. Oh, and your two suitcases? Fat chance of getting them opened up anywhere - there’s simply no room. Good luck to the poor cleaner who has to make the bed tomorrow and get around this obstacle course. ||||Speaking of the bed, no sheet - which usually wouldn’t be too much of an issue. Except the air conditioning doesn’t work. And when two people have showers, the room gets stuffy rather quickly. So you can only sleep with nothing on top, or a quilt that will make you feel like you’re a croissant in an oven.||||I did ask reception about this, and they told me that it was ‘only heat’. Again, weird - surely you’d want your guests to be as comfortable with their room temperature of their choice, rather than the hotels’. (Side note, the majority of our other encounters with the staff here were friendly and pleasant).||||Taking a shower, you notice that the shower head dips down, like a sad flaccid body part when the tablets haven’t kicked in yet. This means the water just weakly sprays against the shower wall instead of your body, the main focus of the whole operation. Also, there’s barely enough room to wash yourself in the shower pod - any motion of arm movement means your elbow will hit the lever handle and turn off the water. ||||So you kick yourself, thinking of the 3 further nights you still have ahead to get through at this place - all pre-paid and non-refundable, so no chance of getting any of that back if you moved hotels.||||As you try to drift off to sleep, you hear the singing of the couple next door. It literally sounds like they’re in your room, but the woman belting out ‘Shallow’ by Lady Gaga is indeed behind a very thin, not sound insulated wall.||||So please, take a moment and consider before you book.||||Oh, and also the...

My 5 stars are based on the absolute exceptional service I was offered during my stay, which was quite particular. That is not to say there were not a few teething issues, including noise/music easily audible from adjacent rooms, but this was only an issue the first night of my stay.
My entire stay really felt like a concierge experience. The staff is attentive and helpful. Water is provided on tap / bottle as required. Cake and fruit is also available all day. The lobby is nicely decorated and was a great space to work in.
The rooms are snug but have everything you need for your stay. I personally didn’t mind the smaller size of the bedroom because the design is so cosy and cohesive. It really gives the sense that a lot of thought has been put into the space and the most important features for the guest. I also stayed in a 4-star hotel shortly after, where fewer features were provided for a much higher cost…
But really, for my stay, I have to commend the two receptionists David and Robert, who made my stay as comfortable as possible, especially because I came down with a bad fever for most of my stay! They provided endless honey and lemons, water and tissues. David even walked with me to the pharmacy when I needed to pick up antibiotics to communicate with the pharmacist, and provided breakfast and a dinner to the room even though no room service is usually offered.
Top service in a boutique hotel experience, which I could not have asked for better. I will recommend and return myself next time I...
