Things were going fine for three days until my brother joined us at the hotel in the room I booked and paid for him and his young son on our last night. We arrived back at the hotel in the late afternoon after a long day out sightseeing with my brother's friend who lives in Paris. The plan was for him to get his son to sleep in their room and then I would babysit so he could go out to dinner with his friend. As I passed through reception with dinner for his son the receptionist asked me if the friend was staying and I told her no, she'll be leaving soon. Later I discovered that that same receptionist called my brother very aggressively demanding that the friend leave by 7pm (it was around 6:30pm and they had been there for about 30mins at that stage). I should note that we were never advised at any time that we could not have guests come to the rooms nor was it in any of the booking material. She then called back to threaten calling the police if she wasn't out by 7pm – waking the young child both times. I travel a lot all around Europe, because of my job, but something like this never happened to me!!
I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and after the first night, they tried to force me to change rooms because they had rented out the room I was already occupying! They even wanted to move my personal belongings without my permission while I was out of the hotel. I had to threaten to call the police to stop them from touching my things.
To make things worse, after I checked out, they attempted several unauthorized withdrawals from my bank account using the card I provided for the deposit. My bank flagged these suspicious transactions and contacted me. When I called the hotel to ask what they were doing, they claimed it was for a "city tax"—a tax I had already paid when I checked in!
This experience was completely unprofessional and unethical. I strongly advise against staying...
Read moreThis hotel is located in an excellent place. It is all around well maintained and clean, though for the price I would have expected a better place. The elevator does not reach the 4th floor, so if your room is located there, you would have to carry your luggage along the narrow stairs. The elevator is also pretty small and does not feet more than 4 people tightly placed inside. Some rooms from the other members of my family were not cleaned every day nor were the beds made or the bathrooms refilled with soap or toilet paper. Some employees were pretty amicable, but others were quite rude. The included breakfast is small but delicious. The bread is magnificent and it was the best thing about staying in the hotel. Over all it was a good experience but I would have liked a better one specially because of...
