Liked: What’s not to like!! First time camping in France as a family! (Although myself and partner did it as children) camping du poulquer was everything we wanted!! Management was second to none, opened reception when we arrived at 7pm after a long drive, we soon realised all shops were shut, the owner gave us two bottles of water and refused payment until we could get to the shop the morning after!!
Site was spotless! No litter, toilets, shower and washing up facilities again spotless however never saw anyone cleaning so they must’ve been in at the crack of dawn before anyone was up!
Pool area was just what we wanted for our 4 year old! The weather was great so we didn’t really use the indoor pool so can’t make comment on that!! Pool area was quiet till around 3/4pm when more people joined but ample amount of space to swim and have fun with 4 pools to choose from!!
Play area has 2 trampolines, bouncy castles, slides and swings again ample amount for your kids to do while in a safe enclosed space!
The site itself was HUGE and busy but it felt like there were only a few families there with each pitch having its own hedged area! Your own little sanctuary!! 11pm onwards was deadly silent perfect for our 4 year old to get some sleep!
The Boules competition took place after lunch each day and although we didn’t bring our own we happily watched 2 or 3 games take place at once with our mezmaried little one!!
Monday, tuesday, Thursday and Friday night a crepe van/burger van visits the site and food is reasonably priced and tastes amazing!!! My daughter begged for a crepe on walking past and it was delish the following night after running out of gas unexpectedly we had burgers and my goodness we’ll dream about these once home!!
Each night we took the very short walk to the beach for an ice cream after tea!! The beach area was lovely and we often managed to watch the sunset over harbour!
There was evening entertainment in what seemed to be a bar area and the front of the site but as we had a little one with us we didn’t get chance to visit!
We booked the site with 7 days notice (it was a spare of the moment trip) due to the lack of avalibility everywhere else we booked here but we are so glad we did!!! We had an amazing week here!! Defo looking to come back in the future!!
Disliked: Nothing!! Although the playground was a stone flooring and my little one kept getting stones in her crocs!! Although nothing a little dust off...
Read moreLiked: Lovely site which was very clean and tidy. Pitches are separated by hedges for a bit of privacy. The indoor and outdoor pools were very good and also kept extremely clean with a no shoe policy around pool areas. There was also a play area for the children. There is a crepe van there Monday and Thursday evening and they are very reasonably priced and delicious. The site is only a short walk from the beach and seafront where there is a safe swimming area and lifeguards. An ice cream from the shop opposite the beach is a must. The nearest supermarket is 5 min by car or a 25 min walk. There is a shop on site but it had only the bare essentials, you can also preorder bread for the next day. This is worth doing as the nearest bakery is either the other side of the beach area (20-25min walk) or you have to go to the supermarket. The gentleman on reception (not sure if it is the owner) was very helpful when we needed someone to translate to get a doctors appointment for my nephew.
Disliked: Not really any dislikes but just a few things to be aware of. Not all the pitches are level so if you are taking a camper I would advise bringing some ramps. As this was our first time camping in France I don’t know if this is the same on all sites or it was just something they did on this site but they don’t provide any toilet roll or hand soap in the toilets so just be aware you need to...

Static was spotlessly clean, with spacious living area and well equipped - great shower and comfy bed. Reasonable amount of storage space too, although we were able to use the second bedroom which would be ok for younger children but a bit tight for 2 adults.||Fabulous indoor pool with various water jets and jacuzzi, two outdoor pools one of which has waterslides plus a toddlers pool. Two loo blocks which we only really used for the pool as we had the static, but plenty of showers and loos. Two laundry/wash up rooms, one of which has hot water. Play area near the gate. ||The bar opened on 1st July, the shop and snack bar a couple of days later. Bit of a lack of info about these, but all very nice! Free wifi outside the bar. ||Superb location five minutes walk from the beach and the promenade which leads to the marina; restaurants, bars and a good boulangerie/sandwich shop within 10-15 min walk ( a smart new restaurant also opened about 2 mins from the campsite the week we were there but we didn't try it).||Great place to stay and a lovely alternative to the noisy...
