I'm an Accor member and stay in Accor-brand hotels regularly. Yet they don't allow me to write reviews on their website... so only option I have is to write a google review. I stayed for six nights in Mercure Rambouillet for a very steep price. In fact, as I'm a light sleeper, I upgraded to a privilege room which was supposed to be on the backside of the hotel (dixit the hotel staff when I informed before upgrading!). When I checked in, I noticed the room was definitely on the streetside facing the noisy market square and when I asked the reception employee about this, she said that privilege rooms are ALL facing the busy market square (so the previous staff member was lying just to sell a more expensive room?). The room was very noisy (there was music nearly each night until midnight), it was hot as the airconditioning wasn't working properly (so I had to open the windows!), the shower didn't work properly, the floor carpet was stained... and worst of all, breakfast and very poor service! The first day there wasn't any bread at all. We asked several times but after 40 minutes still no bread. Which breakfast buffet doesn't have bread? Other days choices were very limited. The staff were all very young and arrogant. They clearly didn't have any experience in hotel management or dealing with guests. One night we decided to drink cocktails at the bar, but we were served completely different drinks than what was on the menu. Sad. We went to the neighbouring café instead, which we should've done a lot earlier, since they had great drinks and service. My recommendation? Do not stay, here. It's definitely a waste of money. This hotel doesn't offer the quality nor service of a...
Read moreThis Hotel should be renamed Faulty Towers as Basil Faulty is surely the Manager! It took FOUR MONTHS OF REPEATED EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS TO RECEPTION STAFF AT THIS HOTEL to try and book accommodation for family guests attending my daughters Wedding being held in a nearby Venue, ALL to no avail. The Reception Staff seemed incapable of Reserving Four Suites without making mistakes with guests names; number of guests/children in each suite; or indeed arrival/departure dates, their incompetence was truly unbelievable! I repeatedly phoned asking to speak with the Manager over this period but he/she was ALWAYS unavailable; out for lunch; on another call. Eventually a relative who resides in Paris actually had to drive to the Hotel and assist the Reception Staff to input the details correctly into their system before our Booking was finally correctly confirmed and paid in full! The Hotel Staff were aware this reservation was for Guests attending a Wedding, however, weeks prior to the Wedding I received an email CANCELLING MY BOOKING! No apology; no explanation or indeed suggestions of where I might find alternative accommodation, just cancelled. The whole of France is back in business, all the other Hotels are fully booked, but this Hotel has chosen not to open! AVOID IT UNTIL THEY MANAGE TO GET SUITABLY TRAINED RECEPTION STAFF AND CHANGE...
Read moreOverall the hotel was fine, the location great for access to shops, restaurants and walking the grounds of the chateau. ||However, we were specific to find a hotel with air conditioning and it was not working. We were told the second day that it was fixed, but again was up most of the night unable to sleep because it was so hot. And, there was no hot water in the shower any morning. Oddly, there was hot water for the sink, but not the shower. I was traveling with several people in different rooms on different floors and all had the same experience. ||If the hotel cared at all, it could be a nice place to stay. Unfortunately it’s clear they don’t want to invest in the hotel as there is VERY little staff. Tateana was wonderful, very nice and tried her best, but each day was dealing with so much out of her control. She was amazing, keeping a smile on her face and trying her best with all the upset guests. The restaurant/bar was also understaffed and at night there was only one employee in the hotel (at least that’s what we were told and all we saw). It’s a shame they don’t care more to hire people and ensure basic things like hot water and air conditioning are provided. ||I’d recommend looking for another hotel if staying...
