Stayed here for three nights on a recommendation. Hotel is in the diplomatic quarter and about 15 mins walk from the centre and 5 mins from the European institutions. It is on the No 2 bus route from the main station as well as on the 6, 30 and 72 routes. We did quite a bit of walking to and fro. Hotel is utterly inappropriate for anyone with mobility problems as there are steep steps up from the street and, if you are in the annex rooms to the rear, two more flights of steps to navigate. ||Rooms were fine though a little old-fashioned. We had the bottom two categories, standard and superior, at €78 and €88 respectively though there seemed to be little difference. Indeed my cheaper one had a real shower whereas the superior one only had a shower attachment over the bath. No duvets but sheets and blankets and weird French leccy where the sockets only worked if the lights were on, which made charging a bit of a problem!||Breakfast at €11 was overpriced and poor value (coffee, tea or chocolate, one tiny glass of juice, fruit compote and three pastries / rolls) and there are two bakeries nearby which offer more for less. There is no bar or restaurant and nowhere in the immediate vicinity that we found. Staff (mainly Olivier) were very friendly and helpful.||Don't know if I would stay again but this is not necessarily a criticism. Think I'd check prices in town next time, that's all. But if you are in Strasbourg on business at the institutions...
Read moreWe stayed there two years ago and again this July. We had a family room for four as we travel with our 18 and 19 year old children.||||The rooms are old fashioned and sparse but spacious and cosy. The bathroom is a little dark and there is no shower curtain which leaves us with a completely wet place after everyone has showered!||||Breakfast is much too expensive at € 9/person for some bread, a croissant, a 'pain au chocolat' and weak coffee...||||We were also bothered by the night receptionist who tried to send us to a specific restaurant. We said we planned to go to another place, he told us we needed a reservation as it is always full, as we refused, he told us to make sure to let them know he sent us... it felt like Marrakesh! Needless to say the restaurant was half empty, we enjoyed a fine dinner and made a point of not mentionning the guy!||||Last little annoying point, the room rate is not the same on the website, on the door and at the reception - we were billed € 2/night more, when we mentionned this little difference in price, the receptionist was arrogant about it!||||We will probably not return a...
Read moreI have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. ||||True, it's old-fashioned. But my room was diligently cleaned early every morning. It's location is perfect for going about your business on foot. ||||Many people complain about the 'low quality breakfast' and that it's too expensive @ 11 euros for a set amount of food and drink. However, the food was served with love, fresh and Strasbourg is not a cheap city. You will not find that amount of food for 11 euros anywhere else. ||||Most importantly, this place reminded me about the true meaning of customer service. I was not treated like a client but, rather, a valued guest. I felt cared for, not just respected. ||||If I have to go to Strasbourg again, I'd go to this...
