Stayed here for a few nights while at a conference in the centre of Versailles.
Reception was alright, although there was a bit of confusion over whether my room had been prepaid or not (which was the fault of the agency rather than the hotel). The evening receptionist wasn't particularly friendly or seem that interested in helping me solve the problem (perhaps because I don't speak French so they had to use English). However the receptionist in the morning was very friendly and helped me use the buses to get into the centre.
The room was clean and had a bed and a desk, which was all I needed really! Unfortunately, there wasn't a kettle which was a shame since I would have liked to have a couple or ten cups of tea during my stay but this wasn't the end of the world.
There was a bit of mould over the shower in the bathroom, which didn't really bother me as I've spent three years living in student houses but should probably be dealt with! Otherwise the bathroom was fine - the shower worked perfectly and wasn't too pokey.
While it's a little bit out of the way, it was walkable from Rive Droite station (~30 minutes) and there are regular buses from just outside the hotel, which take about 15-20 minutes to get into the centre of Versailles. It's also right next to the Parly 2 shopping centre, which I popped into to buy myself a McDonald's at one point!
I would recommend a stay here if you need a basic room while staying...
Read moreThe one thing they don’t tell you about this hotel is that the Westfield Shopping Centre next door is having some major building works carried out and the whole of the B&B Hotel is affected, day after day. At night it was quiet but work started at about 8 in the morning and continued all day. The whole building shook and wherever you stood it sounded as if a massive tunnelling machine was about to come through the walls. It was almost impossible to speak to one another over the din. We booked through Expedia and what amazes me is that they are still including it in their listing even after we told them about the horrendous noise.||We felt sorry for the staff at the hotel because they had put up with the noise and the complaints every day. They were very understanding when we said we could not take it. |We returned for a siesta in the afternoon and decided that we could not tolerate the noise so we checked out and booked into an Airbnb apartment which was delightful. |The hotel room itself was far from perfect with broken lampshades by the bed. This is very basic accommodation.|The hotel refunded us for one night out of three. Expedia take no responsibility whatsoever.|If you are planning on visiting Versailles then you should know that this hotel is NOT walking distance from the Palace and its Gardens. It’s an expensive...
Read moreAfter leaving my bags in the room, I took off for dinner. When i came back, all my belongings were gone. It took me some moments to understand and I realized they were taken by someone...
So, I went to the reception to explain all my belongings are gone. The guy at the reception took out a memo on the desk and went into the backyard. When he came back, he brought one of my bag and say " this is yours". I asked why he had my bag but he said he does not know anything sinc he just started his shift. I asked for the another missing bag which contained my PC but he said he does not know anything else.
I complained this is totally unacceptable that someone walks into my room and take all my belonging but all he answer was he is not capable to do anything until the tomorrow morning. I did not understant why so wait.
While I was complaing, the hotel guest suddenly showed up to the reception with my bag in his hand and say "I found this bag in my room". He was staying at the same room that I left all my belonging on the previous day and said the same thing also happened to him.
So many unanswered questions, but one thing for sure is this did not match my taste.
(Very upset but giving 2 stars due to the hotel fee...
