The Novotel Chateau de Versailles is located in the heart of the quiet, safe, and pretty community of Chesnay. The hotel is right outside Paris, is terrific, and a superb value. My close friends and I had stayed in two superior rooms for a one week stay at this excellent Novotel.
First, the rooms are furnished with modern furniture and are kept in spotless, immaculate condition. The entire staff is very friendly and customer-oriented. The breakfast buffets at this Novotel are the best that I have had during years of touring Europe. Staying at the hotel for a full week, I saw and witnessed the superb breakfasts. The assortment of food, breads, and pastries was constantly fresh, delicious, plentiful, and frequently replenished. The choices of cuisine for breakfast was wide. The four-star hotel consistently presented a FIVE-STAR breakfast buffet.
The choice of the Novotel Chateau de Versailles in Chesnay was based on selecting an excellent hotel that was reasonably priced, close to Paris, and conveniently situated to the Chateau de Versailles and its nearby incredibly memorable parks. After the sumptuous breakfasts at the Novotel in Chesnay, going for long walks at the nearby parks of the Versailles Palace was most welcome and enjoyable.
The Novotel in Chesnay is and within driving distance of both the Fontainebleau Palace and the Chateau de Chantilly. The Palace (Chateau) de Versailles is easy walking distance (a 10 minute walk) from the hotel. The Palaces of Fontainebleau and Chantilly are only 30 miles away from Paris.
Of course, Paris, with its magnetic allure, is nearby. Choosing this Novotel in Chesnay is a wonderful alternative - - instead of paying the very expensive costs of a hotel in the heart of Paris.
Also, for people attending exhibitions (“expositions” in French) at Villepinte, staying at this Novotel in Chesnay is an excellent choice. In short, this Novotel in Chesnay is a perfect choice for persons who want to experience great accommodations, enjoy great breakfasts, and be be near the Chateau de Versailles, visit Paris and its environs, and be within striking distance of the Palace of Fontainebleau, Chateau de Chantilly, and the many annual events at Villepinte.
The Novotel in Chesnay offers three free parking spaces directly in front of the hotel, for those wanting to avoid extra parking charges.
Also, the neighborhood of Chesnay has many fine stores, bakeries, and lots of lively restaurants surrounding the market square, all within a nice walk of one kilometer from the Novotel.
One final word that speaks volumes: in a last-minute rush to use my room’s bathroom right before joining my friends who were waiting for me in the lobby to checkout, I inadvertently left my sunglasses in the room. Camille of the Novotel contacted me and shipped the sunglasses to me. That one act (“going the extra mile,” to use the American idiom) speaks for itself of this hotel’s commitment to extraordinary hospitality, impressive service, and...
Read moreWe arrived earlier then check in time from a 22hr flight. Hoping to be able to check in early to freshen up and start exploring we greeted by what we found a cocky gentlemen advising that early check in is an extra 80 Euro- did they have a change room to freshen up in then to avoid this? No there were the toliets only. So we choose the extra 80 after our full travel and we're desperate to have a shower and change- our room was empty to mind you, so it was ready they just have cashed in on extra time- never have we had this before in our travels.
On arrival into the room, there were tea bags and paper cups but no kettle, proper cups or glasses, the body wash was empty, even little things like the toliets paper didn't express a new guest to enter.
We had to go and ask for a kettle and cups and glasses, they advised they don't supply any little milks nor even a bottle of water in the fridge provided that was completely empty.
I will say the bed was comfey, but then also soon discovered the room really has no sound proofing, we were woken up to what sounded like constant banging upstairs which did last awhile- later advised that yes there was a family upstairs, you could hear them walking around as well very lightly.
They did do they best and advised if it did keep happening they could move us. Which we didn't end up doing as it was one night we couldn't be bothered as lucky we were heavy asleep or the the noise did stop and didn't come back.
On check out we were advised they would not charge us the extra 80 due to the room not being set up. And check out was with a lovely understand lady which was alot. Icer then the check in.
Glad it was only 1night, wouldn't recommend personally. It is close to the Palace and surrounds.
Must be the location only that...
Read moreCharming hotel located at a quiet part of the city of "Le Chesnay" in Versailles. Everything from check in to check out, cleanness of rooms, food/breakfast bar was just as pleasant along with staff. Great experience at bar in the evenings after dinner.|I had a room to myself and it was very comfortable and large enough. Bring your European charger plug as the room don't have USB plugs. There is a small fridge as it comes handy for drinks and small items. AC worked great in the hot first week of September. I like the walk in shower as it is large and nicely stocked.|Breakfast is very similar to other Novotel hotel in Paris as they offer plenty of everything. Dined both nights at N CAFE in this hotel for dinner as the menu offered more to my liking few French dishes. I really enjoyed the French stake and it was well cooked along with great cut of meat.|The are 3 bus stops right next to hotel at round about and on side street. I used bus line 5 to go to Parly 2 (shopping mall) to buy correct charger and found the mall very interesting with plenty to see. I used an app called Bolt for taxi or car services and used that to go and return from Palace de Versailles and...
