Arverna Cit'hotel Vichy — Hotel in Vichy

I was on an overnight business trip. There was a curfew at 6 pm and I arrived just after 6 pm. Checj-in was done in a jiffy the key card was ready. I was show to my room. Due to the restaurant's being closed in France, I called in earlier to find out about the meal arrangements. The owner very kindly explained that they worked with a restaurant nearby with à daily menu and would send me a text message on the same morning and I just need to call them to confirm my choice. And if it didn't suit me due to my food allergy they will have an alternative solution. The hôtel gets 5 stars for cleanliness. The room and bathroom are spotless. In fact the basin, bathtub and toilet are perfect. The bed was well made and matress and pillows were confortable. I wish the desk was a wee larger in depth as I spent the entire evening working on my laptop and ate my dinner on the same table. The space was a bit tight when I pushed the chair back, it hit the bed. Since I was alone, it was fine. The room was a good size. I love the bathroom. We stayed at this hotel for the Ironman Vichy event, for four night. The rooms are spacious enough, extremely clean and very well-appointed. Everything in the room is top-notch, including the kettle and cups, the air-conditioning, bedding, lighting and bathroom. ||||The breakfast was excellent. The service was also friendly and very efficient. The managers went out of their way to provide a very early breakfast on race morning, and did this cheerfully. ||||The managers were very friendly, offering any assistance needed, had excellent restaurant suggestions and were very capable with the logistics of our event, including bike storage and going in and out with our equipment. They also arranged for a shuttle to get to the race site so early on race morning. ||||Overall, the experience was perfect, but the cheerfulness and efficiency of the managers made it absolutely exceptional in my estimation. I had booked a room with the hotel and the day of the travel a snow storm became apparent in the region and as I was traveling a long distance, I requested to move the reservation date out two weekends. The hotel refused and charged me for the stay. I don't expect a refund as that was not the deal, but given the circumstances the Hotel should recognize people have their family's safety to consider and it was not apparent till after the cancellation date that the weather was going to be so bad.
