The Originals Boutique, Hôtel Les Nations, Vichy — Hotel in Vichy

I booked a last minute 2-night stay on B&B basis, arriving on a Sunday, & obtained an excellent rate via Booking.com. The hotel is located a stone’s throw from the beautiful Napoléon III park & the banks of the river Allier, where there are numerous restaurants. The easy walk between the hotel & the train station takes about 20mins. |I requested & was allocated a top floor room which was spacious if somewhat stark. Kettle with caf & decaf. provided, but no mini fridge. I loved that the bathroom has a window. Gel provided only in the shower. Very comfy bed. The main negative for me was the terrible sound insulation, but I am mindful this is a very old building & that noise disturbance is predominantly the fault of inconsiderate people! The floors are also very creaky so I was glad to be in a top floor room. |The breakfast buffet was plentiful & of good quality, taken in a nice room with plenty of space for self-service & dining. |I would definitely stay at this...

Old building with no soundproofing: while there wasn't much traffic noise, I could clearly hear the conversations in the room next to mine. One tiny elevator - be prepared to use the stairs.|Spacious clean room. Well lit desk area. Amenities included an electric kettle. Well located power outlets. The A/C didn't work and the front desk didn't answer the phone; I walked back to the front desk and found out that the A/C is activated upon request only - too bad no notification is provided upon check-in or in the room.
