Guest House Tamta — Hotel in Stepantsminda

Kati is the welcoming and friendly owner of this guesthouse in Kazbegi's back streets--actually the family home and named after her youngest daughter.||||Speaks just enough English to get by, but eldest Mari is around to translate as needed. We used Google translate to chit chat on several occasions. No troubles at all.||||My room had extra high ceilings, a comfortable double bed and large windows that could be opened wide. Huge shower and new bathroom. 3 rooms in all. 2 have private bathrooms and 1 shares in the hall. Heating was on at night as temps were chilly in late spring.||||You are staying in the family home, but they are very quiet and conscious of guests. Kati did my laundry one day and didn't even want to charge me for it, though I insisted. That's the sort of hospitality on offer here.||||Breakfast is a delight. All homemade. There's nothing like a hot cheese khachapuri fresh from the oven. The options are mixed up too. I stayed for 3 nights and had a different main course each morning.||||Strong wifi, especially at the breakfast table.||||Dead silent at night and wonderfully situated. Sitting on the front patio with a cup of tea in the morning and enjoying the view is an experience I won't soon forget.||||The location is a bit of a walk up the cobbled streets. Tip--walk up the main paved road closer to the central square, then cut across to Tamta. Walking down the road parallel to the river and up the cobbled street is more difficult--as I discovered while carrying my backpack! Or take a taxi--10 GEL.||||Highly recommended and looking forward...

I look from outside in winter season I think here is normal but when I walk to inside here is heaven. Everything so good and full service. She have kitchen, big room, very beautiful every corner. I know immediately owner is very pay attention in everything and I'm not surprise why Tamta Guest House have high rate review.

For me?.....​I want to give more than 5 stars If I can but I cann't because highest is just 5 stars hurrrrrrr.....

The best and the best is not cozy or beautiful but it is service mind from owner. I really impressed at the first time I met her. Why I know because I have hostel in my country so I felt it from the first time I met her and saw every detail of what she did.

This place for me deserves not just 5 stars, but should be 10...

Lovely guesthouse with incredible view of Mount Kazbek!! I decided to book this guesthouse first time in Nov 2021 because of the prefect view, the room was super clean, comfortable, and spacious. Katie & Joni were a wonderful host and took care of me very well even with a little language barrier. I came back again in winter and summer 2022. Breakfast was optional but we asked Katie to arrange for our group, it was fantastic! Homemade breakfast with organic ingredients :) Let’s say, anything you need, they can find it for you (taxi service, day trip, etc.). I really appreciate their hospitality and would definitely come...
