I was recommend this hotel by friends as they were visiting their Daughter prior to Christmas and she has an apartment about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is on the corner of a road junction so parking is very restricted and limited to the road outside. As I didn't have a a car it didn't cause me a problem but I saw numerous other guests struggling to park even to off load their luggage.||||I booked directly with the hotel and paid €170 for 2 nights. This I found on arrival didn't include breakfast which was an additional €18 per day. Bit annoying really as I looked on a hotel web-site later and they offered the room at €85 per day B&B! WiFi was also extra at €2 a day which is a bit naughty these days!||||This is a Family run hotel and quite nice if small and somewhat plain. My room was on the first floor and had a small balcony overlooking the busy street. No views I'm afraid of the Blue Wonder bridge from which the hotel takes its name. ||||The room was adequate and had plenty of wardrobe space, the en-suite was fine and it even boasted a fridge but this was empty. Apparently for guests to buy drinks at the hotel and keep in their room!! However it had a large vertical radiator on the wall and it was much too hot for comfort. I tried to adjust the digital temperature settings but to no avail. I called reception and a Girl came up with a key which un-locked the dial and turned it down. All a bit strange and not much use to the room Guest.||||I tried the hotel bar which was pleasantly decorated and had access from the street for passing clients. Prices are on the whole what you'd expect to pay in a 2 or 3 star hotel.||All told a pleasant stay and I'd probably stay again if in the area. I'd give breakfast a miss though as €18 is a bit rich and you can get a fabulous Brunch by the Bridge for...
Read moreWe have been living in Dresden for quite some time, we have hosted many people in several hotels in the area and we have been travelling in Germany quite extensively. I have to say this was one of the most disappointing experience we ever had. The rooms are decent and generally without any big problem, however I think this hotel is DEFINITELY OVERPRICED. It is supposed to be a 4 starts hotel , we came back at night very thirsty and we could not find a way to get a glass of water. No bottles in the room, no minibar, no reception, no machine. The hairdryer comes directly from the 70's. The toilet is a "faked marble" toilet of discussible taste and the shower has one of those plastic curtains that was probably bought together with the hairdryer (again in the 70'). The only thing we were happy with was the lady at the reception when we arrived that was quite kind, but we had to change our mind in the morning when a quite nasty girl took care of our check out. Quality of the hotels in Germany is quite high, and this hotel has for sure one of the worst price/quality ratio I haver seen. Forgot to mention: the wifi...
Read moreI was quite comfortable in this nice, warm, homey hotel. It's in a good location, right near the Blue Bridge over the Elbe, local shops and bars, and an easy tram ride from town. I stayed for 6 nights including breakfast. Room facilities were good though the bed was very firm. I had a good view out over Schillerplatz and electric blinds were effective in keeping the room nice and quiet, along with double glazing. Staff had pretty good English and were very helpful. Breakfast was pretty simple but perfectly fine. I had to get some laundry done and it didn't seem like they had a regular procedure for that, but made it happen anyway. There were a couple of drawbacks - the room had no coffee and tea facilities, and very minimal toiletries were provided and not renewed daily. I had to leave a note to ask for more shower gel! Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again. I wished for a night time cup of tea though, so I hope they consider providing...
