My friend and I arrived by train at 11:00 pm after the Inn's restaurant Anton's had closed. We were greeted and welcomed by Piwo, the evening manager/chef who went above and beyond to assist us with checking in and assisting us with our luggage. We shared the room with my friend's Son who was visiting on business. The room was nice sized and accommodated a comfortable king bed as well as a full sized futon complete with cotton linens, down comforters and pillows. The room had excellent access to outlets for our electronics and wifi. The only issue we had was a lack of storage for luggage or clothing. The bathroom was large, very modern and clean. The water was hot and pressure was excellent. There was a radio in the bathroom as well as a towel warmer and two way shower heads. Throughout our stay, we enjoyed our breakfasts, dinners and drinks in Anton's and the modern country styled breakfast room. The breakfast offered juice, croissants, breads, sliced cheeses and meats, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal and freshly prepared veggies. In addition we were offered two eggs with bacon or sausage and Roman, the morning waiter prepared coffees of your choice. The Inn and Restaurant were conveniently located next to a Deutsche-Bahn train stop. Other staff who assisted us with interpreting menus and giving directions were Saskia and Miri. I would highly recommend the Lindenhof and would...
Read moreI travel to Erkelenz annually for work and have stayed in all the hotels there. The Lindenhof is the newest of the hotels and as such it is the most modern. Located at the local train station it is close to public transport. The rooms are spacious and modern with ample room and a very comfortable bed. The bath rooms are also quite roomy which is a bit of a change. The bonus is the A/C very good for those warm nights when other places struggle! The restaurant is called Anton's and it is quite good. A very good menu and the quality is great. They serve a great traditional German breakfast here and it is good. The staff are very polite and English is no problem. Erkelenz mightn't be a tourist hot spot but if you do end up there the Lindenhof is a great place to stay. The only downer was my room didn't have a fridge. However I know that they are...
Read moreHotel Lindenhof is a fantastic hotel in the small town of Erkelenz.||I stayed there for two nights while visiting friends in the area.||There is only one floor that has all rooms on it - around 30 rooms total if I am not mistaken.||||From the outside, the hotel doesn't look like much and you would expect a countryside family-style older / traditional guest house.||But this place is super modern with very nicely designed rooms - looks like a major renovation was done not long ago. Impeccably clean - friendly staff and great food too.||||The price is also very reasonable given what you get -...
