I chose this hotel primarily for location - it is easily accessible by car, but also very close to the old town - but it turned out to also be a really beautiful hotel, and one of the most enjoyable hotels in a four-week tour of Germany. One of the reviews mentioned that it is a hotel in the traditional grand style, which is true, but it has been updated to be fully modern in function.||Regarding location, the hotel was easy to get to by car; we were able to find on-street parking while we checked in, and we were then were given access to the (extra-cost) parking garage behind the hotel, which was convenient. The hotel is right by the train station, so access by train would also be very good. It is only a one-block walk to the northern edge of the old town, so access to the tourist sites in Goslar is also good. ||I had the superior single room, which turned out to be a nice room. By 'single room' standards it was spacious, with a small sitting area and a large bathroom. It also had a small balcony, which was a nice bonus. ||Breakfast was outstanding, one of the best during the four weeks in Germany. Everything was fresh and delicious, with a lot of choice, and the breakfast room is bright, with large windows and high ceilings.||All of the staff we dealt with spoke good English, and were very helpful in general. ||If I were to visit Goslar again (a possibility, as it is a beautiful city!) I would definitely...
Read moreThe hotel is conveniently located right next to the train station, and short walking distance to the old town center. Its breakfast area was beautiful and elegant. The Premium Double room we stayed in was clean and decent sized. But the room was very narrow and elongated, looked a little odd. The bathroom was very narrow too, the toilet was positioned closely in front of the bathroom sink. So close that each time I used the toilet my head would easily hit the sink if I wasn’t mindful. (I guess odd shaped rooms are common in old hotels. Maybe next time I will be mindful when booking hotels). The room also smelled because of poor ventilation. So we opened windows to let fresh air in. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, it makes squeaking sound each time I moved. The breakfast was nice with many cold dish items including fresh juice, vegetable and fruit salad. A minor issue: the made-to-order scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry, not creamy and silky like they should be. The pre-made scrambled eggs in the warming pot had the...
Read moreWe returned to the Nirdersachsischer Hof for a visit to the Christmas Market - having stayed there two years ago - nice and convenient for the station.||Unfortunately, our travel agent made a big mistake with our booking and when we arrived they did not have a reservation for us.||The lady on reception was very patient and helpful and found us a room, while I tried to contact the travel agent on their emergency number, which, unfortunately, did not work.||Having found that we had stayed there previously, the lady said that we could sort everything out in the morning and gave us the key.||Next morning things were sorted out , by a very contrite travel agent.||What could have been a real issue was dealt withn politely and professionally - for which I would thank the hotel and the reception staff - excellent service.||The rest of the stay was excellent - nice room, excellent breakfast and good service. We will have no...
