Restaurant Trüffel — Restaurant in Goslar

I would have given the restaurant 4 to 5 stars, as the food was absolutely the best we had had in all of Germany. both starter, main course and dessert were top class. we had chanterelle soup, red sole and dessert.

our young waiter was really skilled. we ordered a French wine "Sankt Emilion Grand Cru" our skilled waiter served the wine in the best way.

unfortunately, after the first glass, a large black fly landed in the wine. we asked for a new bottle. About 5 minutes passed and then a man came out with an apron, and without introducing himself, and spoke quickly in German. i asked him to please speak english as we don't understand german.

the first thing he said was that they wouldn't pay for a new bottle and that it was our own fault that we chose to sit outside. we ate for 220€, it was not a cheap but good place.

I explained told him that a fly usually comes from animal feces if he wants his customers to drink wine with that animal in the wine.

All other restaurants I have been to had it been a formality and you would have been given a new wine asap. It must be said that the staff handled the wine and was on another table and we had no access to the bottle.

Still, it was our fault, the customer, and not the restaurant's responsibility?

my wife suggested if we could get a new bottle cheaper to close the case. we got a new bottle for 25% discount….The next bottle was demonstratively served by a new unsmiling employee who did not edge that bottle and demonstratively put the cork on so the wine was not oxygenated at all.

we gave nice tips and left the place...

I have dined at Trüffel before where everything was great, but from the start it just felt off. First of all, it took a very long time for us to just get the menus and half an hour from arriving at the restaurant to us even getting to order our food. And then another half hour for us to get our starters. The table beside us seemingly got to order instantly and got their food fairly quickly, but for some reason that wasn't the case for us. We would have wanted to order dessert, but as soon as our dinner plates were cleared our servers disappeared. No one ever acknowledged that we had waited for quite some time, and overall the experience was just weird and slightly disappointing, especially because the food is as good as it is. But the experience was just spoiled by the service. We even wondered if we in any way could have done anything to upset the servers, but as I said, the weird service started from the moment we set foot in the restaurant, so it seems unlikely. Not a fun...

5 Stars – Very Good Dining Experience

Our nice experience started with the reservation, as when I wrote to the restaurant asking for reservation, I got a promptly and kind reply. When arriving 10 minutes earlier, they placed us in a temporary table as the restaurant was full but 5 minutes after our place was ready. Large variety of food in the menu for all tastings. Additionally, a daily chef suggestion also available as a full course menu or individually. I miss only more offers with truffles or some option to add truffles on top. Special remark for the outstanding service. The ladies were all very kind and fast. Usually I am struggling in German restaurants where I need to keep begging for a new glass of wine, but in this one the waiters where very fast and kind. Wine list very complete with fair prices. Also, opened wines all very good. Food no cheap but fair and at market price. Worth the experience. Strongly...
