We stayed here on our first night in Europe, honestly we mostly choose it for the very reasonable rate but also because it's not too far from the tourist part of Nuremberg (next time I'd probably book something more central though).||Other than some initial trouble with parking (see below) and the clerks being a little slow we had a decent night's stay but I don't think I'd go back.||Clerks were friendly and spoke English, in the evening you can order a pizza and drink at the desk but there's not a sit down restaurant perse. We'd booked a larger size queen room and there was a comfortable bed and a sitting area with a very small love seat (I found a baby pacifier in it so that was kind of gross!). We actually had a kitchen but they didn't have any Kitchen ware and the fridge never cooled down.||The bathroom was my least favorite part of the room: all one large room with a curtain separating the shower area. Absolutely no counter space so we had to use the floor. There was a all in one soap dispenser for showering, washing your hair and your hands.||Breakfast is extra but we booked an included rate for not much more and it was very nice with a everything from pancakes to a salad bar (yeah salad for breakfast!) and eggs.||It was about a 30 ninute walk to the beautiful old part of Nuremberg, not super scenic for the first 20 minute but quite flat and nice enough. There was a Subway station across the street too.||I wasn't terribly impressed but am giving 4 stars because it wasn't awful and was very reasonable ( we paid $88 Euros a night with breakfast although parking was extra).||We were driving and very confused by parking. We tried parking on the street until we could check in and ask about the garage but street parking is limited and they don't seem to have anywhere you can pull in while checking in. We tried the garage ourselves but couldn't get it to open even though the clerk said it should have (once we had a room key it was easy). There's a parking lot for a grocery store across the street and I'd suggest using that. Parking is 17 Euros a night and there were...
Read moreThe hotel is very modern and nice however, the staff is unfriendly, rude and unprofessional. When arriving at the hotel, we waited an exceptionally long time to be checked in. It seems as though the staff have trouble navigating the hotels management program. When it was our turn, we were informed that the reservation was for another date and as they did not have any available rooms at that location, they sent me to the location at Furth as that property had rooms available. I asked if I could cancel the wrong reservation and they said since I had made the reservation through an affiliate website they could not cancel it at the hotel.
Cool, so arrived at the Furth location and again another long wait with the young lady not being friendly at all. Is it part of the modern design of the hotel that the staff act like doing their job is a chore?
I ended up paying twice the amount of the original booking which sucks but for the amount of money you let property charges, I would expect that there be working appliances in the room, which there were not. The microwave did not work neither did the Bluetooth speaker.
Upon checkout, I waited in line for another while. The hotel clerk was in the office on her cell phone and she quickly the group in front of me and sat back down. When it was my turn she proceeded to ask me what I needed while she continued to sit in the office. I told her I need to checkout and she asked me for the room number and checked the computer and said I was good and to leave the room card on the counter.
Lastly, when trying to get the issue resolved with the charge for the incorrect reservation, I was told that I could not get refunded without anyone even looking into the matter and charged for the original incorrect reservation plus the charge...
Read moreWe had a pleasant one-night stay at the Holiday Inn - the niu, Leo Nuremberg. The hotel’s modern and clean design immediately stood out, making for a welcoming atmosphere. A big highlight for us was the early check-in, which was incredibly helpful and made our arrival stress-free.
Our room was clean and spacious, offering plenty of room for our luggage. The floor-to-ceiling windows added a nice touch, making the space feel even larger and more open. There was a kitchenette in the room, which would have been great if it had the basics like plates, bowls, mugs or at the least, a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. Unfortunately, these items weren't there, so it wasn’t as functional as you'd assume.
In the morning, we were looking forward to a coffee before we hit the road. The hotel has a coffee machine behind the 24-hour bar at reception, and we were told that coffee would be available. However, when we went to get our coffee first thing, we were surprised to be charged nearly 4 euros each. While it wasn’t a huge deal, we were then told to head to the breakfast area to use a different machine ourselves. Considering the price, this felt a bit much for self-service coffee.
Despite this small inconvenience, we were generally happy with our stay. The hotel was comfortable and modern, and the early check-in was a real plus. We’d recommend the hotel for a short stay, but just be prepared for the extra cost and self-service...
