Hotel Gerhard — Hotel in Nuremberg

The hotel is situated outside city centre but with a good connection with it via U- Bahn. Three- four stops and you can enjoy visiting old town and do some shopping as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The building itself is of an old style which means that a lift takes you only " half floor" which is not good when you have a disabled person in your party. The room itself was in proper " ordnung" with en suite bathroom. Unfortunately there was no air condition and outside was very hot. To open a window was also not a good idea due to quite heavy noise from the street. We stayed for 3 nights and loved this hotel. The room was very nice and a decent size. The continental breakfast was very good with some hot food options. In a nice residential area, easy to walk into the old town (about 20 minutes) or right near a Ubahn which will take you in in a few minutes for €3.|Friendly little bar around the corner for that essential night cap, although it took us a few hours and several beers to get out.|My only suggestion would be to leave the hot water boiler on in the dining room so you could get a hot drink when you want one - you know what the English are like for our tea!|Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends...
