If you can imagine living in a cuckoo clock house this is the hotel to stay in. It is a traditional German hotel full of beautiful features. |We went with a coach trip to the Christmas market in Rudesheim and stayed for four nights. The hotel is usually a bed and breakfast hotel in the winter - the Italian restaurant is closed. They gave suggestions where you can go to eat but on our trip they cooked us an evening meal. We didn’t have a lot of choice but what was given to us was well cooked and home made. |Breakfast was amazing for me. I love meats and cheeses, breads and jam. I could make a Caprese salad as they had slices of mozzarella and tomato and a stunning pesto sauce. There was an onion chutney to die for and other accompaniments to go with the meats and cheeses. Hot food was bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs. Cereals, yoghurts, fruit was available. |There was a small bar where we could get drinks throughout the evening. |The hotel itself was spotless and very warm. The rooms are nothing fancy and modern but cosy and very adequate for your stay. The bed was comfy and the shower powerful with lots of hot water. No noise from other rooms. |The wi fi is stable and we had no problems with it. |The hotel was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. Everywhere you looked there were stunning wooden/natural decorations. I was in heaven. |We had a room overlooking the road and had no issues with the cars passing. Our windows were shut as it was cold, this could change if they are open during the summer. |The hotel is situated a two minute walk outside the market, nice and quiet. |The Christmas market in Rudesheim is stunning. Cobbled streets and alleys, medieval houses everywhere. Like being in a fairytale. Excellent market, over 100 stalls. |We loved the hotel and Rüdesheim so much we have booked to return...
Read moreStayed 5 nights in this hotel on a coach tour. Room/bathroom was a nice size and very clean. We had a kettle in the room, and plenty of plug points. It was so hot and stifling and with no air con was difficult to get a good comfortable nights sleep. We did get a fan which helped. Our room was facing at the back which we were grateful as the rooms facing the road were exceptionally noisy due to this hotel being on a main road/junction. We only got noise by the smokers hanging around the car park for their before bed ciggie. The breakfast was of good choice and there was tea and coffee included. Evening meal was okay, but drinks had to be bought even water for 2.5 euros small bottle and soft drinks 3 to 4 euros. The service was slow and one night we waited 45 minutes for a bowl of soup (considering they had all our orders in by 9am that day). As this place is a restaurant we found that the customers booked into that restaurant were given all the attention service first and we were left to wait.|Also we were shunted outside to have our evening meal and had to negotiate to have a small table for two/four of our party to be inside. So only four out if five from me as the service really let this...
Read moreWe booked a comfort room so that we could enjoy a/c and we’re glad we did. The corner room had 7 (!) windows and a view to the Germania. The bathroom was spacious. Plenty of towels, bathrobes, flatscreen TV and tea and coffee making facilities.||The hotel is situated close to the Rhine, but is quite noisy due to traffic because it’s on the main road through Rüdesheim. Just letting you know... ||Due to COVID-19 I assume, the breakfast is brought to the table on an etagiere but the portions are really small (one half of a cherry tomato each (!)) and you have to negotiate with your family about who gets the brie or pâté 😆. The car park was also full when we arrived so we parked on a nearby street - there was no charge from 18:00 - 09:00 the next day.||Friendly staff and very clean and fine...
