I stay in Stade on a regular basis and have tried a few different hotels. I struggled to book a hotel for this trip as all were fully booked (I have colleagues staying 20km away)! The Hotel Am Fischmarkt would not be my first choice but it is perfectly located for the best of Stade, restaurants, local life and pretty sights. The room I stayed in, room 10 is the smallest room I think I have ever stayed in but it is clean and comfortable. The manager/owner(?) is incredibly helpful and friendly. Then it was a 5-10 min walk back to the hotel. We enjoyed our stay, it's a unique hotel in an interesting part of the city, lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel may have handicap possibilities, but I did not see it. Lots of steps and different levels. Extremely low ceilings! (see picture) I am 5'4" and didn't have much clearance to the ceiling, so tall people beware. ...
