Hotel Krone — Hotel in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Bretten

Hotel Krone is in a great location in Bretten. In the middle of everything, they still provide rooms that allow little noise to sneak into your room. We hadn't originally planned to stay in Bretten, by realized that driving from Fussen, stopping at Hohenzollern Castle, and on to Boppard was too much in one day, so we chose Bretten as a stopover. Great choice as it is a cute village, and has more reasonable accommodations than Stuttgart. We really enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Krone. Our room was spacious, very clean and had all amenities of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was amazing. The largest variety of food we found on our trip, excellently prepared and presented and wonderful coffee. Locals enjoy the breakfast as well as customers. There is a spa and treatments available which we did not use. Their bar is open at night, but their restaurant does not as yet serve meals in the evening. This was a great choice. Love the hotel and breakfast. Rooms are very nice and updated. I would be okay if they weren't I almost would like to see old original stuff here in a way. The staff is very friendly, most are very hard to understand (German) or understand my english. Nice place to stay plenty to see and many places to get a bite to eat or drink. Yes there is a church bell that goes off often, it doesn't bother me. Down side I am staying for over 35 days. They have me changing rooms twice so far. We came for the annual Peter-und-Paul-Fest, my wife is half German and her cousin and family are in the festival. We were, of course, right in the heart of the festival staying at the Krone. We had the apartment, which was wonderful. Of course, the heatwave this year made things a bit uncomfortable for everyone, but the management did all the could to help - a nice fan was placed in our unit. During the final parade, with massive crowds, were were invited to the 2nd floor in a private room to view it perfectly - and they even brought cold drinks to us! ...
