Stayed for two nights in this hotel with my son. The hotel itself is fine - clean rooms, not too cramped, convenient location to EuropaPark. ||||First, we had trouble getting in - if you don't have a German phone, expect to be in trouble - there is no one who mans the front desk and all that's left is a number to call, one of which was wrong. ||||But then the real problem came in the middle of the night - the fire alarm in my room started going of for no reason - not just the sound it makes when it's low on battery - but actually going off as though the entire place was on fire!! I took it out of the ceiling and brought it to the front desk, unsure of what to do, and no one was there. And it kept going off and off. Probably the people at the top of the roller coasters in Europa Park could hear it! I tried to call the two numbers but couldn't get a hold of anyone. And then I spent the rest of the night paranoid that there was actually some kind of fire emergency after and that my son and I would be in danger. Terrible. Eventually it stopped. When I told the people the next morning, they had nothing to say other than, "Sorry to hear that, hmm." ||||So, while the premises are fine and no complaints there (breakfast was also good), don't expect any...
Read moreStayed 3 nights in this small hotel, situated 700m (10' walk) from the Europapark themepark in Rust. It's a modern building next to the small river.||Although it is a hotel, it gives a little bit of a bed & breakfast feeling. There's no bar, no restaurant nor a lounge. Just a small reception and a breakfast room with terrace. ||The room we got (number 6) was quite small but the design, the cleanliness, the nice bathroom and the window door with view on the running water made up to it. ||The very quiet surroundings and a soft and comfortable bed ensured a good sleep after a long day in Europapark. ||Breakfast was very nice, very fresh with tasty bread. You can order a fried egg, scrambled eggs or an omelette. Also the coffee is very good, there is a automatic espresso machine with fresh beans. As a matter of fact you can even get throughout the day as many coffees as you like. ||Combined with friendly staff and free parking space in front of the building this was an ideal home base for 3 days Europapark. ||One thing I was missing is a safe in the room and some more power sockets in this...
Read moreOVERBOOKING. There was no stay at all, to begin with. I booked a room for two people (weeks in advance) through booking.com. On the CHECK IN DAY, two hours before arriving in Rust, I get a call from booking.com saying that R&J hotel could not receive us due to OVERBOOKING! That's right. They overbooked their rooms and only let us know that they would cancel our stay in the same day of the check-in! I tried calling the hotel countless times at that day (27.08.2020, around 4pm) and no one picked up the phone! So imagine my situation in a train, on my way to Rust, and with no hotel to stay and also with no support to find another one! They screwed my hollidays. When I read all these great ratings I wonder why I got such an unbelievable treatment. Hope you guys don't get your reservation canceled and have to find another hotel in a...
