Review: A Gem Along the Neckar – Campingplatz an Der Friedensbrücke
During my recent stay at Campingplatz an Der Friedensbrücke in Heidelberg, I was left thoroughly impressed by this tranquil haven nestled along the Neckar River. This campsite combines the serene charm of nature with the warmth of excellent hospitality, making it an exceptional choice for anyone visiting the region.
The location is nothing short of breathtaking. Situated conveniently near Heidelberg, it offers the perfect blend of accessibility and scenic beauty. The peaceful ambiance along the river, coupled with the backdrop of lush greenery and the nearby historic town, creates an idyllic escape for nature lovers and explorers alike.
What truly elevated the experience, however, was the hospitality of the owner. A true gentleman, his kindness and attentiveness ensured every guest felt welcome and cared for. It is rare to encounter such genuine warmth, and it left a lasting impression on me.
The amenities were thoughtfully maintained, striking a perfect balance between comfort and rustic charm. The cleanliness and organization of the campsite were commendable, and the quiet atmosphere made it an ideal spot to relax and recharge.
If you’re planning a trip to Heidelberg and seek a peaceful retreat with heartfelt hospitality, Campingplatz an Der Friedensbrücke should undoubtedly be at the top of your list. It’s not just a campsite; it’s an experience that resonates with the soul. I cannot recommend it enough and look forward to...
Read moreWe had the great pleasure of visiting this spotless campsite located 10 km outside of Heidelberg in the nice suburb Neckargemünd. I can only recommend this family-run campsite.||||It has its own restaurant, has very clean sanitary facilities, friendly staff and is located ideally on the shore of the Neckar river with the green mountains in the background. I visited with my wife and two kids aged 5 and 8 and playground facilities is the only thing, where the campsite could improve. It doesn't have a swimmingpool, but 1-2 km away from the campsite you'll find the most beautiful (and clean) Freibad (outdoor pools) in Kleingemünd - the entry doesn't cost very much. You might have to book a slot prior to your visit and get a QR code. In Neckargemünd you'll find a nice old town center with a handfull of nice restaurants and an ice café near Hanfmarkt (walking distance) and a patio located right next to the pier wieving the river and Kleingemünd in the background. You can go by boat (I'll recommend doing so) to or from Heidelberg to Neckargemünd or take the bus 35 from Hanfmarkt/Neckargemünd just 500 m from the campsite. It runs very often. There is an S train connection too, that we did not use though.||||We found this place a better option than the campsite located closer to Heidelberg, but in the middle of nowhere. Except for the playground facilities I can really recommend this place in any way. That is why I rate it with four stars instead...
