Ferienwohnung Storchennest — Hotel in Volkach (VGem)

Romance & Magic in Bavarian Luxury For 3 weeks I traveled throughout Germany and was fortunate to make "Ferienwohnung Storchennest" my home base in the lovely, quaint town of Volkach. This luxury apartment is nestled in a charming village setting right in the heart of Bavaria. The hosts speak fluent English and are absolutely amazing! Upon my arrival, I'll never forget the host family wanting to make sure I would easily find all that I needed. Taking me on a vivid walk, I was able to learn where marketplaces, churches, and the infamous town square were. I was even introduced to townspeople, many of whom I would see again.

Offering exquisite tastes of local food and sumptuous wine, Volkach is a town where church bells toll and ancient towers stand tall and still. As though living in a fairy tale, the lavish sights, sounds, and scenes were more than I had imagined. Centrally located, no car was needed as there are accesses to buses leading to train stations where one can easily find passage to all of Western Europe; however my heart would choose to explore the cobblestone streets & dazzling yet serene village of Volkach, her nearby sister towns & livelier cities, many only a stone's throw away.

Kitchen and dining areas of "Ferienwohnung Storchennest" are bright and spotless. Modern appliances including stove top, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and ornate cookware/table settings make this kitchen complete for preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is one you will feel right at home in. It easily serves a family feast, group of friends, perhaps most perfect for the romantic couple.

The bedroom is found upstairs a wooden spiral staircase whose ancient design sets the stage for a peaceful night's rest. A quiet respite where simplicity intermingles with its lofty setting. Set upon hardwood floors, bed comfort is superb offering privacy from the rest of the apartment. Peering from the summit of this room are typical yet breathtaking views of Volkach, and her quaint townspeople as they slowly stroll by.

With European shower and luxurious tub options, the bathroom is plush and lavishly decorated. Provided are ample towels, a hair dryer, area for hanging/drying/rinsing clothes, and rod iron tables perfect for laying out apparel or setting out amenities for daily use.

Living Room is eclectic! Extensive attention to detail include classic model cars that are prominently displayed, an antique treasure chest, book collection, specialty lighting, and a couch that's both comfy and elegant. Art is at its finest.... oh, and did I mention a flat screen tv?

Perhaps my favorite spot of "Ferienwohnung Storchennest" is the day room. Adjoined to the dining area, this creative idea of space provides for more than a study. With excellent WIFI throughout the apartment, I chose this area as a computer/office work space due to the perfect amount of daylight that shines through. It can also serve as a lounge, place for reading, relaxing, or toasting wine at the end of the day...

When I booked "Ferienwohnung Storchennest" in Volkach, Germany, I did not know the treat I was in for. The grandeur of the apartment, rich history of this village, and the exceptionally warm welcome that awaited me will one day bring me back. For an experience of true German Heritage and culture embedded with charm that is simply magical, the town of Volkach awaits you. And with Germany home to 42 UNESCO World Sites, I can hardly wait to return to the only home...
