My recent stay at the Courtyard Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt was extremely disappointing. Here are some key points from my experience:
Location: This hotel is situated in a small town rather than in Wiesbaden itself. The nearest bus stop is a six-minute walk away, making it difficult to reach without a car or extensive planning. The remote location adds unnecessary hassle for travelers.
Facilities: The facility appears quite old, and the beds were as uncomfortable as those at a budget hotel like Moxy. There was no bath mat provided, resulting in a damp room with water everywhere after taking a shower. This lack of basic amenities is unacceptable for a hotel under the Marriott brand.
Check-In Experience: Upon check-in, the receptionist failed to acknowledge my Platinum Elite member status and simply asked me to choose a welcome gift. I had to inquire about the benefits of my status, specifically whether it included free breakfast, only to be told that free breakfast is not available for Platinum Elite members at this location. This is a blatant disregard for loyal customers.
City Tax: The city tax was exorbitant at 5 euros per person per night. This felt almost like robbery, especially given the subpar quality of the hotel.
Customer Service Issues: There was a significant discrepancy between what we paid in euros and the Marriott Bonvoy points we received in USD. When I contacted Bonvoy support, I was insulted by a representative named Lori, who accused me of trying to exploit the point system. I was only seeking the points I rightfully earned. The hotel staff never apologized for this inconvenience, even though I included their email in my communication with Bonvoy customer care throughout the entire process. This lack of professionalism was deeply disappointing.
Follow-Up Communication: After leaving my review, the hotel responded with a templated apology, shifting responsibility for the city tax and points issue to external entities. While they stated my experience was below their standard and promised to review internal guidelines, the response felt more like an excuse than an effort to address the issues. In my reply, I emphasized the importance of customer satisfaction and expressed my disappointment in their defensive stance. The hotel's refusal to take responsibility for their shortcomings is appalling.
Overall, my stay at the Courtyard Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt was far from satisfactory. The poor service, outdated facilities, and lack of basic customer care make this hotel an embarrassment to the Marriott brand. I would not recommend this hotel to other travelers and will be looking for other properties...
Read moreI am just as surprised as you are. How can a simple Courtyard by Marriott earn a 5 rating? First of all, it is a very impressive hotel, exceeding our expectations in most areas. My wife and I were thrilled to learn they offered bubbles at breakfast. A lot of fancy hotels don't even do this! In addition to champagne. They offered ajvar, which I have not seen at any German hotel. There was also liverwurst spread, which is not for me, but unique nonetheless. There was also a selection of gluten free breads. The rest of the breakfast buffet was similar to most European buffets. Here, you could also order eggs of your own choice. I went with an everything omelet. ||The bar manager, Tristan, was awesome as were all the waitresses at breakfast. We each had a delicious bowl of cream of pumpkin soup as we had eaten a wonderful lunch at the conference we were attending. The food at the lunch buffet was fantastic with many options of fish and meat with plenty of vegetables platters.||The rooms were comfortable. There was wonderful air-conditioning. The only downfall to the room was in the set up of the bathroom with an unusual slideing shower door arrangement. It worked, but it was awkward.||My wife and I were extremely pleased from the moment of our arrival to our late checkout. The check-in took longer than anticipated, but the people in front of us had a lot of questions apparently. I am not sure if there was a second front desk employee who could have helped, but waiting fifteen minutes was initially frustrating. After this slight pitfall, everything else, other than the bathroom set up, was incredible. See for yourself from...

Positive is that the AC is seperately controlled for each room, the temperature are not preset by the hotel or limited to e.g. 20° and equally important blow even on the min. setting sufficiently strong to cool down the room unlike in many other hotel chains (e.g.NH).|Most rooms during my stay were in a good condition, but some rooms need a fix up. |The worst are those rooms with worn out mattresses, when I wake up in the middle of the night with back pains. Today’s room however tops it all since I noticed left to my pillow the label “Foot End”. |Whoever designed the bathroom never took a shower in his design, because even being very careful holding the shower head in the hand and away from the open cabin end, was I able to keep the passage dry, when you leave the shower head in the fixture the complete passage is wet. A cheap wiper to dry the passage would help, since towels are for drying yourself and not the floor. |Depending on which side your room faces you might hear guests talking and laughing outside. |If you don’t park directly in front of the entrance you have to lift your trolley and carry on over several steps, when you park...
