Very easy to park underneath the hotel. There is no lift so we had the familiar pleasure of lugging our cases up a million steps. We had a fairly tepid reception from an older man but later a friendly young man on the desk went out of his way to help us find an out of hours chemist - thank you! Our room was very clean and very comfortable. There was a good TV and fan but as is usually the case, no fridge, iron, kettle or spare bedding. I do so wish two and three star European hotels would at least provide a kettle - this one small outlay could make such a difference to someone's stay. I did ask for another pillow but it never came. The bathroom was new/as new, attractive and likewise very clean. The location is good if you have your own car - and there are supermarkets and restaurants close by. There is also a "Big Box" (massive supermarket with a food court and liquor store) 5 minutes walk away. There is also a fantastic schnitzel restaurant called the "Schnitzel Queen" located at the Comfort Hotel - just 10 minutes walk away - wonderful (and huge!) meals and good, friendly service. Wiesbaden itself is 15 minutes drive (maximum) away and is a good starting point to visit Mainz and the surrounding areas. The very best thing about the Hotel Stolberg was the incredible breakfast!! So many delicious choices - if you are a breakfast person, you will love it. The breakfast staff were very friendly and...
Read moreWe used this hotel as an overnight stay. We were quite impressed by the breakfast they offered in the morning. They even started the breakfast 30 minutes earlier for us so. The hotel is convenient located close to the highway. There is also a supercharger close by, only for Tesla cars. The hotel offers an underground parking which is free of charge. The rooms itself are basic but clean. There is no elevator in the hotel so be prepared to carry your luggage 2-3 stories if you have a room on the top floor. In front of the hotel there is a nice restaurant which offers some good local food. Given the fact that this hotel is relatively not expensive, I would surely...
Read moreI give one star extra because the breakfast experience was good, not superb but good. However, the room was too small and the ceiling too short. The room did not have any air circulation valve, let aside air conditioning. So, the room got hot and damped when we closed the window. We opened the window and there was noise and mosquitos that bitten us. The room was so small that I couldn’t move around when the window was open. There was also no fridge, no tea or coffee facilities. Terrible, terrible room. We didn’t mind it was far from the city as we were with car, but it’s really far if you mind. I can’t believe they charged us 90 euros for a...
