Our group of four arrived at the hotel with expectations of a warm and welcoming experience, but unfortunately, we were met with indifference from the outset. There was no doorman or staff available to assist with our luggage, despite several employees being visibly present inside the reception area. We had no issue handling our own luggage, but the lack of acknowledgment or assistance made us feel ignored.
Upon entering the reception, the greeting from the front desk staff was the coldest and most disconnected we’ve ever encountered at a hotel. The welcome drinks, which were visible at the side, were not offered to us. Check-in was completed, but the experience felt transactional rather than hospitable. Given the overall atmosphere, we assumed something unusual was happening that day.
When we requested help in getting our luggage to the room, the staff member assigned to assist us appeared to be in an unnecessary rush, causing two of our suitcases to fall off the trolley twice. He did not offer any verbal apology.
The poor service continued with room service. We waited approximately 90 minutes for our order, only for one of the meals to arrive completely cold. The staff member who brought the food insisted that we pay, despite the obvious issue. When I asked him to check the food himself, he picked it up, remained silent, and realised it was inedible. He then offered to warm the meal, but I refused, as I did not want microwaved chips. Thirty minutes later, he returned with a fresh plate of food I did not request, insisting that I still had to pay. His tone was sharp and dismissive. I escalated the matter to reception, and the manager later confirmed that I would not be charged, but the entire ordeal was unnecessarily frustrating.
Additionally, the hotel’s interior design, felt slightly outdated. While this was not our primary concern, it added to the overall disappointment. More concerning was the apparent preferential treatment given to white Caucasian travellers, which was disheartening to witness.
Fortunately, we only stayed for one night. In my view, this is not a 4 star hotel. Based on our experience, this hotel is not well-suited for international travelers, and we will not be returning on future...
Read moreI had a wonderful 3 week stay recently at Fiesta Royale hotel during a business trip. The hotel is conveniently located close to the airport and Accra Mall which both are a short drive. The bedrooms (and en-suite bathrooms) have been recently renovated to an incredibly high standard and decorated beautifully. The room provided a haven to unwind after a busy work day. My room overlooked the pool and an immaculately maintained garden visited by the resident kingfisher and an array of other birds, a true oasis in central Accra without even leaving the hotel room. The hotel provides a great selection for the buffet breakfast each morning and has a wide selection to choose from the restaurant menu for lunch/dinner. As an added bonus there is a cash point in the hotel's carpark which accepts overseas credit and debit cards.
What stood out for me the most however, were the incredible staff at the hotel. Their customer service is one of the best I have experienced in all my travels. Everyone who I interacted with, the security guards, the shuttle-bus staff, house-keeping, maintenance, the staff at the gift shop, the restaurant and bar staff, chef, the doormen, front desk/reception, and the hotel general manger went out of their way to make me feel welcome and at home. Always friendly, they are true professionals ensuring that very high standards are always maintained. Their incredible generosity with their time (be it for a "quick" conversation which happily lasted much longer than originally planned or helping with ideas for sightseeing or shopping or ordering a taxi through a reliable company), their genuine concern for my wellbeing and safety and the incredible gestures such as ensuring my food allergies were considered during meal prep made this a true home away from home experience. I was genuinely sad when the day arrived for me to leave.
I look forward to returning and seeing the Fiesta Royale...
Read moreis was our first trip to Ghana and the Fiesta Royale was one of the hotels recommended by the conference I was attending. THIS HOTEL IS SPECTACULAR! The lobby is open and inviting. The desk agents are excellent and will be very helpful with any questions! The ROOM was fantastic. It was VERY clean, there is an electric pot to boil water, a hair dryer and several universal outlets (so if you are coming from the U.S. you do not need to worry about purchasing a converter. At least one bedside stand has a universal plug and there is one in the bathroom. The shower was great (great water pressure and hot water). Cleaning staff was also very helpful. ||If you are a nervous traveler (and I am!!!!!) this is really a great place for you. Everything is VERY CLEAN. Bottled water is provided in the room daily. ||I did not eat breakfast but my husband had breakfast every day of our stay and enjoyed fresh made to order omelets, pastry, hot tea, juices, and other standard breakfast items. We were cautious about eating fresh fruit and vegetables, but they were in abundance! We did eat dinner at the hotel most nights. You can order off the menu but we always ordered the buffet. There were many options -a combination so Western foods and traditional Ghanaian foods. The meals were delicious. We enjoyed the servers also who regularly circulated to clear plates and ask for drink orders. (You can order a large bottled water which is enough for four people. Since there was only two of us, we took the remainder to our room for later use.||I honestly have no complaints at all about this property. The grounds are really lovely, it has a nice pool (that is rarely busy), the hotel is close to the airport and easily accessible to other downtown locations (with a driver).||We would love to return to Ghana and we would look forward to staying at...
