Thursday, September 19, 2019 I do not consider myself a world traveler, but I have been a few places and where ever I go food is one thing that I look forward to. I enjoy experiencing different cultures. So needless to say, I had to try #PalaceChineseRestaurant.
You may be wondering, 'Why eat chinese food in Ghana" My thought process is, one has to be bold to come to a foreign country and establish something other than the norm. Bold indeed. Confident as well.
I had seen the huge billboard that is at the main intersection on my first trip a year ago. This visit I chose to try it.
It was lunch time, but the place was empty outside of one patron. At first, I was going to sit and dine, but then I decided to take out. I perused the menu and saw a lot of familiar dishes. I chose the Noodles with meat. I enjoy chinese food with a lot of spice, so I said spicy please.
I got up from the table and went to the front to wait. I took a few pics of the establishment (asking permission first). I noticed that there were five jars filled with liquid. Of course I asked what it was. They said it was wine.
Each jar was labeled as follows: Rheumatid - bones and veins Body P - body pain Power (starfish inside) - potent Eye (snake inside) - eyes and veins All In One - all mixed in one jar
So of course, I must try. They came in shots, so I tried Power and Eye. An interesting experience to say the least.
I may return before I leave Sunday. Oh yes, by the way, the "chow mein" was the best I have had in a long time. And the staff was great!
A special thANKH you to Marshall for his expertise and excellent work...

This place is priced like a high-end Asian restaurant, which is laughable considering the quality of the food.
We ordered the Wontons, Chicken Curry, and Peking Duck. While the Wontons were decent, the Chicken Curry and Peking Duck were some of the worst I’ve ever had. Truly disappointing.
To make matters worse, when we called to order, the manager told us the order would cost 697 GHS. However, when the delivery driver arrived, he demanded 1,293 GHS. This added insult to an already poor experience.
Even putting the pricing "discrepancy" aside, the food is simply not very good; and doesn't justify the price.
If you’re looking for quality Asian food in Ghana at a fair price, this isn’t the place. There are plenty of better...
Read moreThis is my favorite place in the whole of Ghana for authentic Chinese hotpot.
I’ve eating all kinds of food since 2008 in this Resturant and I’ve never seen them lower their standards.
They still have some of old staff from 2008 still working here and is lovely to always see them happy and still do what they do best.
The portion size of their food is much more than other Chinese Restaurants in Accra.
The hotpot is my most preferred experience and it’s best you are in group to have this. Is more interesting than going for hotpot alone. Mind you each person is charged separately and the style eating is buffet meaning all you can eat however this one you get to cook it yourself at the table.
Look at pictures of my last two...
