Roots Hotel Apartment @rootshotel_apartment screams class, luxury, style, tranquil and freshness that is how I felt when I stepped into the mahogany interior with a touch of kente lobby of the hotel to spend the next five days in luxury and style, it felt Iike home and the welcome; very warm. This hotel is situated in the heart of Osu, a street that never sleeps, this is where you can see the night life of Ghana which I must confess is fun and glee. This hotel room comes with a phone that you can call your loved one with, free of charge! You heard it free of charge, this phone is your tour guide around the city, it directs you to tourist, shopping, food and chilling spots, it’s your navigation tool during your stay, and it is free of charge. The staff are very professional, well mannered, friendly and efficient. The hotel has a conference room, a roof top Jacuzzi to help relax and revitalize your body system; here you can sip on your favorite cocktail/mocktail from Esuro mini bar while you enjoy the stunning view of the whole of Accra. You can enjoy a rich breakfast, enjoy a late delicious dinner and get fresh bites; snacks, cakes, pastries from the purple café and enjoy intercontinental and lebanese recipes from the Sky Deli on the 7th floor. Each room has a modern/African interior with air-conditions, free wifi, tv and is elegantly complemented with a fully equipped kitchenette for your comfort. There is a functional gym for you to cater to your workout routine. The hotel has airport pickup and drop off but you have to inform them of your itinerary. One of the highlight of my stay was breakfast time! Yes!!! I always looked forward to going to the 7th floor to have breakfast, you get to choose from a variety of mouthwatering continental and Ghanaian cuisine for breakfast. While having it, you can sit outside and enjoy the city view which is very therapeutic. I recommend this apartment to traveler! Read moreI stayed here from 3/8-3/12/2024 and had a very poor experience. I had (3) events happen that I reported to management and received barely a response let alone correction for their shortfalls. I left my debit card with staff after completing a transaction in error. Hours went by and I was never contacted. I had to contact them after realizing it was missing only to find they knew all along and neglected to reach out to me while I was a guest there. Security allowed a local to enter the hotel while the door is constantly manned by a bellhop. This local followed me into the elevator, got off on my floor and pushed to receive contact information from me as he found me attractive. I was alone and very fearful. Upon checking out; I accidently left several items in the closet. I was never contacted. Due to the fact I had left my luggage while finding a new hotel I had to return. Upon returning no one could locate my items. The staff called the cleaning manager who could not give access nor return. This was not right. I left and had to contact hotel AGAIN; I asked for items to be delivered to my new location and they would not. I had to walk over a mile to retrieve items they should never have kept nor contacted me about.
I reported all of this to managment and received a flat; "I'm sorry". These issues should have been addressed and I should have been made comfortable with this pending concerns - no credit for stay, no upper management contacting me, no genuine apology. It appears that staff there was hoping I would not realize my items were there so they could keep them unfortunately. I asked to be contacted as I felt these concerns weren't being taken seriously. The same manager; Senam, simply sent me a text saying sorry you had issues while you stayed here.....
Horrible international experience feeling unsafe...
Read moreI loved everything about this place. I also stayed at the Labadi Beach Resort, and I would rank this place higher. The hotel is situated off of Oxford Street, making it close to walk to the ShopRite and other restaurants. I did not hear any noise when I was in my room. The room was spacious. I was in the family suite, and it had a full kitchen, dining room, living room and a queen bed. My friend's room was attached to my room. The water to the bath was very hot as long as you remember to turn on the switch. The staff were always very helpful. From the staff that picked us up from the airport, the front desk (Samuel), the security and the restaurant staff. In regard to the food, the food was beyond delicious. My favorite were the potatoes. I didn't get a chance to try the surrounding restaurants in the area as my needs were met at The Roots Hotel Apt. Samuel and Albert treated us like VIPS, except for that one night (you know who was there). Joking. There is a Sky Lounge, and we enjoyed hanging and socializing on the rooftop daily. The views are spectacular. The people are very friendly in Osu. And one night, I went out alone to The Kona Lodge. I felt safe in this area. The only recommendations are a larger fridge, more cups and dishes and an iron and ironing board. I hope that the pool is available the next time I come. I definitely enjoyed my stay here and it felt like, my home, away from home. I plan to...
