Zaytoun Artisan Café — Restaurant in Accra

I would not recommend this place to anyone under any circumstance. Don’t waste your money or time. I ordered a juice, classic hummus, zaatar, shawarma, and a falafel plate. The Shawarma beef was old and most of the wrap was filled with onions, what a waste. The Falafel plate was no better. I took one bite of a falafel and it was fried too hard or more than once and seemed to have been soaking in oil or was just old. I told my server that I could not eat it, did not want it, and gave it back. When I got my bill it was on there, after I sent it back. I complained to the server and she said she could not take it off because she would have to pay for it. I asked for the manager. A supervisor came out and told me once I order I have to pay. I explained what the problem was and said it’s not my fault or the server fault but it wasn’t prepared properly. Long story short, they are making me pay for something I don’t want because they don’t know how to make it. I would not recommend this place. If you want good hummus with fresh bread, go to Breakfast to Breakfast in Osu. Their bread comes out fresh and hot and tastes way better than this place. Service and food were great. That avocado salad was really good, a long time I hadn't had such great food in Accra. The place is really nice and quiet from the busy Oxford Street. They have a nice variety of good and good value for money. The only thing I would recommend is to put a more comfortable table and seats on the upstairs terrace. Very poor service. Came with my Grandma and three others and the food took at least 1hr 30mins. Waiter kept saying its not our fault, its the kitchen’s fault. They should be taught the right things to say to a customer who has been made to wait for an unreasonable time. Will be back again to test the service again.
