I travelled here wth my husband and 11yr old in May 2018. We have been travelling to Skala in a Kef for the best part of20 yrs now having stayed at many properties. At first we were a little disappointed not realising just how far out of Skala this property was. However, we though we would give it a try as we always have car straight from||airport anyhow. The views and scenery from this Hotel are absolutely stunning! You can see straight o we to Zante on a clear day. Kamina/Mounda beach are a short ten min walk downhill to gloriously beautiful turtle beach and clear blue waters. There is a safe/news agents just a short walk away and a Kantina and restaurant at bottom of hill at the beach which serves reasonably priced food. We stayed in the ground floor apt overlooking the pool which is a littl mor spacious. It was clean and well maintained with everything you could ask for to cook with and clean up. It even had start up washing up liquid, sponges and tea towels. The shower was stocked with hand soap and was very clean as was the bedroom with double metal bed and kitchen/lounger with sofa bed for children. The main bedroom had plenty of wardrobe and drawer storage and there was a dressing table with mirror. On arrival we were met with some Thassos, owner and Christina his friend and Assistant. You could not hope||To meet s more warm and genuinely welcoming pair of people. Nothing was ever a bother. Our beds were made every day and changed twice during our 7 day stay. Christinia would make creations with the bed sheets for our little girl like a swan which she loved. Mr Thassos would bring fruit from his parlour and wine(really good vino) made from Fruit from his vinyard for us. There is a large fridge freezer in the apartment so was easy to store food. Mr Thassos was very kind and reminisced his favourite pop band of all time 'The Beatles'. The pool like all Pools, it will get the odd insects etc and leaves blow into it but it was dredged every day and filtered by the lovely Christina. However sometimes there would Be the odd insect in which freaked little One so she would use her fishing net to keep free. It was definitely not green!||During our stay there was one other family there for one night, we had the free rain of the pool and apartment all week nearly with no others present. It may be crowded by the pool if there were lots of people saying in peak times. The hotel is at the back of a Church tucked in down a little side road. It overlooks beautiful Zante directly opposite, to your right and five minutes down the road is the beautiful fishing village of Katelios with beautiful fish restaurants and to your left is the beautiful Skala, our home away from||Home. Whilst we prefer to be at the centre of nightlife and restaurants (although not rowdy ones) this was about 5 miles out from anything to do other than go for walks or to the beach. So, a car is absolutely essential I would say. We would go to the centre or Skala to one of the big Hotels during the day or exlore/beach and come back for around5pm and then stay out around our pool till around 8pm. The pool is open until 10pm at night and from early in the morning but closed for two hours during the day around3-5pm for filtering. This is kind of a siesta time in any event as the sun is just too strong at theee times. Whilst we like the hum drum of a city centre where you can just walk into the centre of Skala within five minutes you can't do that here as it would be ten Mins by car. However, do not let this put you off staying here. This is the only one down side out of many positives. We feel privileged to have stayed at this beautifully serviced apartments with charming scenery and having met such genuinely honest, warm and welcoming people who have become friends. It is a complete little gem of a find that is serviced well, clean and tidy. All you really need with the best of beaches on your doorstep with gorgeous sand as opposed to the pebble beach in Skala. We very much hope to visit this Hotel again in the future. It was kind of nice to be able to have the best of both worlds, going into Skala or Katelios Centre and returning to a quiet, scenic retreat! I would have no hesitation in returning. I just hope it is not too busy I can't...
Read moreIn the village of Ratzakli, Ostria’s House overlooks the sea, all the studios have a sea facing balcony. The pool is great, if a little cold when you first get in! The room is spacious with a fridge, 2 ring electric hob and enough utensils etc to make a simple meal. However Christina will bring breakfast to your room to eat on the balcony. Omelette, lovely fresh bread, jams, honey, juice, coffee, fruit and cake. Definitely worth the 4 Euros per person. The only reason I haven’t given a 5 is the bed is very hard, but we are getting used to it! Very clean and every 3 days the room is cleaned, bed changed and clean towels provided. A car is needed, the location...
Read moreWe had a lovely holiday in this gorgeous place. Fresh figs and other fruit on the trees, lovely pool, stunning view and good location. 5 minutes by car to Skala in one direction and 5 minutes to Kelethias village in the other direction with tavernas on the beach. Our apartment was clean and tidy with modern bathroom. Sofa bed in lounge a bit uncomfortable for 2 adults. Christina came each morning with breakfast to our terrace. It was perfect. She was very kind and made us very welcome. Mr Thasoss made us very welcome and we where sad leave when our holiday was over. We will be...
