I should have written this review a long time ago, but in my experience if you don't write it immediately after the stay, it tends to drag out. We stayed at Plumeria Flowery in Therma on Ikaria, Greece, in September last year (2017). When we arrived, Koula welcomed us (my husband and me) like the lost son in the Bible (we had never been there before). Her english was very good and we had a really nice time in Plumeria Flowery. We stayed in studio Plumeria on the first floor, it was actually 2 rooms, one where the bed was, and a separate kitchen and a furnished balcony. Everything was very clean. We had the pension's breakfast and it was delicious and Koula is such a nice person (her family too).||To go there, Koula fixed a taxi for us from the other side of the island, where we stayed first, but it's also possible to go to Ag. Kirikos by the bus from Evdilos, and take another bus to Therma (only a few kilometers). On the return trip we used the bus, to take the ferry further on from Evdilos (since it has stopped going from A. Kirikos towards Athens). ||Otherwise, if you would like to go around and visit other places and beaches, it will be better if you can rent a car, since buses are scarce in the area. (Be aware, the roads may be quite thrilling, more than some like). There is also an airport on this side of the island.||We also liked to walk over the "mountain" from Therma to Ag. Kirikos, a nice walk with wonderful views. ||We really had a great time in Therma, and tried the hot spring. Therma is a funny little town, where you may see people walking around in bathrobe in the streets and even in restaurants during daytime. Nobody seemed to find it strange, probably used to it, due to the thermal spas.||We love Ikaria, unfortunately, for different reasons we could not go there this year, but we plan to be back...
Read moreI recently had to fly to Ikaria to see my father. My father was very ill. If it wasn't for finding this hotel and meeting these people I would have been lost! The Plumeria is a family owned hotel. There is the mother and the 3 girls. I have to tell you if you want to feel love and support, this is the place to be. If you are looking for cleanliness again this is the place. The house is a traditional island house with many rooms but you never feel you are in a hotel. You feel you are in a home. The location is perfect because you are in Therma. This part of the island has hot springs that you can walk to. This hotel is within walking distance to whatever you need. If you have trouble finding something, speaking with Koula is the way to go. She is such a loving, caring, funny person! Her sisters play their role in the running of the hotel. They all are such giving people. The rates are very reasonable. The rooms have air conditioning. I know when I travel back to the island this is where I am...
Read moreI wouldn't call it a pension, for me it's better than a boutique hotel!!||The rooms are confortably renewed, very clean, good beds and pillows, you have everything that you need in the kitchinette, good WiFi, Netflix, telephone, etc. It's even better than my home, I have to confess.||Outside, there is a traditional greek courtyard, don't get afraid if it looks too "rural" for you, in Ikaria you're going to experience how great is to live in the Nature and surrounded by hospitable people like the owners of these great hotel.||I recommend you the breakfast: it's very healthy and with a great variety of local and fresh products. Their honey and olive oil have already become my favourites.||Quiet at night, I slept like a baby.||And don't be afraid by the price, it's every...
