This hotel was an easy but basic stay. The staff are very kind- they greeted us every time we passed- were funny and provided attentive care poolside. The rooms are spacious with good terrace. Air-con is good and the room stayed cool in the daytime when we were away. The hotel landscaping is pretty- lovely flowers and the owner takes lots of care.
The drawback is that it is very basic- dated facilities- particularly bathroom and furniture. Two single beds joined as a double and other furniture with damage, single slightly small bed sheet. I didn’t want to use the hand soap because the dispenser looked rusty and sharp, tiny cubicle but good pressure. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the room- but is good at the poolside. Pool is good- but again the decking has seen better days- repairs with black tape and very basic loungers. I think that considering how dated it is this hotel is quite pricy.
The hotel is quiet despite being in a very very busy town- I hadn’t realized that the atmosphere of Chaniotis is more akin to a Baltic Benidorm! This isn’t a party hotel though- it’s quiet and respectful. A minute walk to mini-markets restaurants and maybe 5-10 min walk to the beach!
It’s an easy stay if you plan to be out and about at the beach all day- but not up to it if you’re looking for a luxuriating around a Classic...
Read moreThe hotel is just fine, even the price paid is a bit high for the available amenities/services.
The rooms are slightly outdated, the aircon was making too much noise, no shampoo refill after 1st day and had to buy yours, the wifi signal was poor with slow internet speed; Small things that can be overlooked upto some point and easily improved - nothing really bad like dirty rooms, broken furniture etc.
The issue is that the stuff behaviour was rude and unwelcome which cannot be overlooked. Always the hotel manager and the stuff (with an upside down smile) were observing the guests if they comply with hotel rules (like need read a manual in order stay there). People going on holiday to relax, which is difficult when your every move been observed.
Highly recommend to hotel stuff become more friendly with the guests making them feel comfortable.
Lastly, cause saw some other comments, there is a public parking space just 5 mins away since the hotel's parking has limited availability and...
Read moreOur 2 weeks in Hotel Nereides in 2023 was one of the most relaxing holidays we’ve ever had. We spent most of our time in and around the well kept pool, lazing on the many comfy sun beds. We were brought food and drinks whenever we wanted, with attentive and friendly service. The staff were great, including with kids of all ages. We were waved and greeted whenever we left and returned. The hotel itself is small (~25 rooms) and a little dated, but very well maintained. Our room was cleaned daily by friendly cleaners. The beds were a little uncomfortable but fine. The bathroom was clean and functional, with good water pressure. The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from a variety of excellent bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, and bakeries. A couple of big supermarkets are less than 10 minutes walk away, as is the beach. The hotel and its immediate area is lovely and quiet. Lots of other guests were repeat visitors and I can see why. Highly...
